To celebrate 35th anniversary of Sino-American diplomatic relations, the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture, Radio, Film and Television is presenting a new and innovative film to the United States, part of an exchange and exhibition of Chinese culture.
In conjunction with Dolby Laboratories, the film's director will showcase Farewell My Concubine: The Beijing Opera before a special industry audience on May 30, 2014 at the Dolby Theatre.
Farewell My Concubine: The Beijing Opera, directed by Junjie Teng, is the first film made by a Chinese filmmaker utilizing native 3D photography to capture the art and drama of the Beijing Opera. The film represents a pioneering step in combining the traditional Chinese culture with modern 3D technology.
WHO: Teng and the film's respected actors Shang Changrong and Shi Yihong will attend and participate in a Q&A following the screening. In addition, many dignitaries and industry professionals are expected to attend. A list of expected guests will be announced at a later date.
