French TV Channel ARTE has Acquired the Rights to Show the Russian film "Naked"

The animated short film "Naked" by Russian screenwriter and director Kirill Khachaturov was aired by the French ARTE TV channel in the Court-circuit short film program. The film will screen free for the first seven days in European nations.

During the first seven days from the date the film was posted on the ARTE website ( www.arte.tv ), residents of European countries will be able to view it free of charge.

According to the plot of the picture, somewhere in the laboratory of Eastern Europe, an accident occurs, as a result of which a person receives superpowers that are unnecessary to him. He does not want to be a superhero and save the world, but only wants to return to his old life. However, even a new superpower does not save the hero from problems in his everyday life.

"In this film, topics such as our interaction with oddities or escape from claustrophobia into open space are important to me," says the director of the project, Kirill Khachaturov.


Russian Short Films Will Be Shown at Immersive Film Festival

To date, the animated film Naked has received over 35 nominations at various screenings and 9 awards. The film won awards at such festivals as ANNECY, ZAGREB, OTTAWA and is the most popular Russian short film in 2020, as well as the first animated film to receive an award for best directing at the prestigious Russian film festival "Pacific Meridian".

The film is distributed by VOSTOK (www.vostok.global), the first distribution agency for Russian short films, created in February 2019 by producers Yanna Buryak and Nikolai Yaroshenko with the support of BKF Bank.

"We are the first Russian distribution agency to directly sell the Russian film ARTE France ," notes Yanna Buryak . - We are really proud of this and, as it seems to us, deservedly so. We look forward to strengthening our relationship with ARTE. In 2022, VOSTOK and ARTE will release a joint program of Russian short films."


Russian Pilot Film Festival Announces Participants

VOSTOK announced itself at the Clermont-Ferrand film market in 2019, opening a Russian stand there for the first time and holding the first screening of Russian short films. At the 60th film market in Cannes, with the support of the Russian Export Center, the agency was represented at the stand of the Made In Russia project at Marche du Film. Also, with the assistance of Roskino, VOSTOK held a press conference as part of its launch in the Russian pavilion of the 72nd Cannes Film Festival. The goal of the VOSTOK agency is the international promotion and sale of Russian short films.
