From Cannes: Saban Films Scores "Bottom Of The 9th" Starring Joe Manganiello and Safia Vergara

Saban Films announced today that they have acquired North American rights to director, screenwriter/author and musician Raymond De Felitta's (City Island, "Madoff") Bottom of the 9th. The heartfelt baseball drama will hit theaters on July 19th.

Penned by Robert Bruzio and formerly titled Stano, the heartfelt baseball drama stars Joe Manganiello ("True Blood," Magic Mike) and Sofía Vergara ("Modern Family,") in their magnetic joint-acting debut. Manganiello produced with his brother Nick Manganiello under their 3:59 banner, alongside William Chartoff and Lynn Hendee.

Bottom of the 9th follows a man who returns to the Bronx after serving 17 years in prison for a violent mistake he made as a kid, ultimately robbing him of a professional baseball career and the love of his life. The film is slated for a theatrical bow on July 19th.
