President Trump has apparently resigned his inability to control the impeachment hearings and has decided to adopt a business as usual attitude, appearing at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, as his impeachment trial begins.

The President's job approval rating, according to the website fivethirtyeight.com, which tracked for the period ending January 11, 2020, decreased by .50 percentage point to 42.% of those polled who approve of his effectiveness as President and those who disapprove of his effectiveness decreased .6/10 of a percentage point to 52.6%. A slight 3% of the population polled have no opinion. Ratings are calculated bi-monthly.

World Economic Forum

The World Economic Forum became a reelection stump speech as the President continued to highlight the successes the American people have experienced during his tenure as Commander in Chief ending his address with "So, together, we must go forward with confidence, determination, and vision.  We must not be timid, or meek, or fearful — but instead we must boldly seize the day and embrace the moment.  We have so many great leaders in this room — not only business leaders, but leaders of nations — and some are doing such a fantastic job.  We work together very closely.  We will draw strength from the glories of the past, and we will make greatness our common mission for the future."

The Activist and the President

The most notable contention for the President, who withdrew the United States participation in the Paris Climate Accord during the first six months of his presidency, was World Climate activist, and Time Magazine Person of the Year, 17-year-old Greta Thunberg.

The President said, "This is not a time for pessimism; this is a time for optimism.  Fear and doubt is not a good thought process because this is a time for tremendous hope and joy and optimism and action," the White House reported in a released press statement.

Ms. Thunberg countered, with her own words as she addressed the world leaders, shaming them for inaction, "You say children shouldn't worry," Thunberg said. "You say: 'Just leave this to us. We will fix this, we promise we won't let you down. Don't be so pessimistic.' And then, nothing. Silence. Or something worse than silence. Empty words and promises which give the impression that sufficient action is being taken," mic reported.

Thunberg founded the international School Strike 4 Climate movement, organizing a global School Strike drawing 1.4million school age participants, in 2000 cities worldwide, across all races, ethnicités, demographics. Those numbers don't include parents or adults who joined the school strike in support of the School Strike 4 Climate.

The across the board support proves Climate Change may be the single most central issue to all peoples in every nation, of every race, everywhere. The earth doesn't discriminate.

Impeachment Hearings "Right Matters"

The Impeachment Hearings of Donald J. Trump finally began in earnest this week with the House of Representative House Managers presenting the evidence against the President.

The senate juries who have were sworn to uphold the process on the pain of imprisonment have largely adhered to the oath. Would they face imprisonment is they spoke or is the oath symbolic? Should they be permitted to speak, to pass notes, to engage in any activity of their own agenda or does the oath they took have actual consequence?

Essentially these are the same charges being presented. Is the oath the president took, as he swore to uphold the constitution, symbolic or do they have actual consequences for violation?

Representative Adam Schiff passionately implored members of the senate body to remember that "Right matters." The impeachment hearings are reducing to right and wrong. Not simply a matter or the implication of what is right in the face of the American people or the world, and what is wrong in the same arenas, as much as those are important. Precedent of what is right thinking for the highest office in the nation, for the president, the highest elected official in our nation, what is right, ethically right.

World News: Police Violence Rises in France Begging the Question Order or Dialogue

Producing an improving economy, making strides to overcome what one party feels are bad policies are the manifestation of expectations. The office, in and of itself, is governed by particular expectations. His ability to move the economy forward is the harvest of two presidencies, his and the Obama administration.

Today, the question isn't "is the economy improving, do people have more?" The question remains, "is there a preponderance of evidence that supports the claims presented by the House of Representatives?"

A preponderance of evidence should be all that is necessary to have the jurors, the senators who swore an oath to consider all evidence, to render no judgement before the evidence has been presented, to not engage in party politics with the gravity of the issues at hand.

A preponderance of evidence, in civil court cases, remains at 51%. Is a preponderance of evidence, in the impeachment trial, the measurement?  Is the evidence presented 1 percentage point over possibly? If yes, then the Senate has no choice but to move ahead and as difficult as the decision may be to render the right verdict.

Right Matters. Again, we are back to what is right is what matters. We are holding one man to the strictest of rules, reminding him those are the rules that one signs onto when one decides the office of the President of the United States is the pursuit.

Rules, the electoral college which elects the president, not the popular vote or a different scenario would be in play. Rules, which the president has shown he is not the best at adhering to anyone's rules except his own. The public, his constituency, his detractors and even the world at large, understands he plays by his own rules. The clash of course is his rules, his ways, must be sidelined when he swore an oath to serve this nation.

Right Matters. The Constitution of the United States. Do we know or even really care what this document says or means? How many can explain the Constitution is the foundation of our government and to be clear that it can be expressed in terms that every person, of great stature or those of small stature understand: The Constitution establishes the basic rights of all Americans. It is difficult to believe that with all the modernization, this document signed in 1787, at the birth of this nation is our bedrock, our foundation, it is the rock on which we stand or the rules we follow.

So here we are back at right matters. Unfortunately, right has not mattered in a long time. As government has slowly declined over the past two decades, right has ceased to matter, when Wall Street needs a bail out at the expense of the common man.

Right ceased to matter, when law firms chose to violate the constitution, to sacrifice the one for the bottom line, to take technology created to eradicate terrorism and turn it into a commodity for personal profit and gain.

Financial Wellness 2020: How Women Shoppers Can Beat the Pink Tax

Right ceased to matter, during the years when suspected terrorists were held at Guantanamo Bay and then let go, to plot, plan and terrorize again.Right ceased to matter when the terror group of the moment, Al Qaeda, ISIS, the Islamic State, Bin Laden, decides to flex their hatred muscles and again terrorize. Right would be the protection of United States citizens at all cost. Right would be right thinking, thinking aligned with the constitution, right would be holding all citizens to the same judicial standard, right would be not turning a blind eye when known constitutional violations are everyday occurrences within Wall Street law firms.

Right Matters would be righting the listing ship, bringing a dignity back, restoring a global respect for America, and not quitting until every person who has chosen wrong, unethical, illegal, violations of office, will be held accountable. Beginning here and beginning now.

GOP Lawyers Take Center Stage

Lawyers for the President took over Saturday and are expected to counter the arguments of the Democrats and make it clear the entire process, the violation of rules, the investigations, simply a democratic ploy, payback for winning or stealing the election from the candidate of their choice.

It is unclear if they will address the charges. As lawyers in the private sector one would think they would present an eloquent, impressive, well delivered, rebuttal. The possibility of future legal needs may be sitting in the chambers. Showing up, respecting the process and system would be in the best interest of those chosen to defend President Trump.

Auschwitz Liberation – National Day of Remembrance

The liberation of Auschwitz, one of the most notorious, deadly, and horrific, Concentration Camps used to slaughter millions during World War II, under control of the Nazi SS war machine, occurred 75 years ago, when Russia and American troops stormed the camps liberating those who managed to stay alive.

"On the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, we remember the 6 million Jews who perished in the Holocaust and pay tribute to the American soldiers and other Allied Forces who fought tirelessly to defeat the Nazi regime. We also recommit ourselves to the fight against anti-Semitism and to the two words that cannot be repeated often enough: Never Again," The President said in a proclamation statement released by the White House.

The atrocities of Auschwitz have been documented, now 75 years later, nation's promise to never forget to not let the memories of the millions murdered during the evil reign of Hitler's SS to be forgotten and to never allow, an evil to rise again.

"In the ultimate act of defiance, the Jewish people rose up from the ashes of the Holocaust to found and build the modern State of Israel. As I have said in the past, the State of Israel is an eternal monument to the undying strength of the Jewish people. To those who will seek the destruction of Israel and the Jewish people, we say: Never Again," the President said.

He remained in print media for some years after and as the news field was young, he was able to jump to broadcast and soon was producing anchoring the nightly news segments. By the 1970's Lehrer had moved to Washington, DC where he would remain for the next five decades.

"In October 1975, Lehrer became the Washington correspondent for the "Robert MacNeil Report" on Thirteen/WNET New York. Two months later on December 1, 1975, he was promoted to co-anchor, and the program was accordingly renamed "The MacNeil/Lehrer Report". In September 1983, Lehrer and MacNeil relaunched their show as The MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour, which was renamed The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, following McNeil's departure in 1995. The program was renamed the PBS NewsHour in 2009," Wikipedia reported. He also moderated presidential debates between 1988 and 2012.

An author, playwright, journalist, Lehrer passed away on January 23, 2020 at his home in Washington, DC.

Election 2020: Biden, Steyer and Buttigieg Have the Open Road in Iowa

The Impeachment Trial of Donald J. Trump has effectively ceased the campaign strategy of three active candidates, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren and Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar, have had to reduce their campaign efforts to Sunday only, at least this week, as the hearing call for a six-day work week.

With candidate traffic stalled, former Vice President Joe Biden, former Hedge Fund Manager Tom Steyer and South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg had the opportunity to speak to hundreds of undecided or interested Iowans each day.

Former Vice President Joe Biden and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders are splitting the lead with each taking first and second places in several of the polls of record. The New York Times Editorial Board has endorsed both Senator Amy Klobuchar and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren for President. The Des Monies (Iowa) Register endorsed Senator Elizabeth Warren. Hedge Fund Manager Billionaire Tom Steyer opened a South Carolina office and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has bounced up 9% splitting fourth place in several polls with South Bend Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg.

The 2020 Iowa Caucus is February 3, 2020. The New Hampshire debates are scheduled for February 7, 2020 and the participants are the same six candidates.
