Meze Audio 99 Neo Classic Review – Smooth, Silky Delivery of Sound, The Perfect Audiophile Gift

Give the gift of music this holiday season with Meze Audio 99 Neo Classic series over the ear headphones, or ear buds, unlocking the hidden audiophile within, with pure, smooth, silky, mesmerizing, delivery of sound.

According to the Meze Audio website in describing their values "We don't follow trends or let them influence the audio quality or design of our products. Style must always be a by-product of high functionality and ergonomics. We design with long product life in mind. Meze Audio headphones embody the classical values of clarity, balance and harmony. This is not a trend and it's not intended to last for just a season. These are Classics. These are devices to fall in love with."

The Meze Audio 99 Classic Series

Unwrapping the cellophane wrapped box, even as I knew the contents, the anticipation to open the package and test out the quality of the Meze Audio 99 Classic Series, was growing.

The quality is evident in every aspect, the headphones are personally crafted, in house, and sleek design. The double headband, and inner comfort strap with outer adjustable bands, I received the black and silver style, which is coal black with silver trim and the silver medallion where the ear cups meet the band. The design is, of course, a variation on the over the ear traditional classic design.

The idea is to lose oneself in the sound, to be transported, to a place where the sound reaches the soul and provides a rejuvenation of spirit.

Meze Audio, the award-winning European creator of over the ear headphone and in ear buds, may be neophytes in the sound market, and audio capturing accessories, and the design and quality has captured the attention of a global market and some of the most serious audiophiles in the world.

Endorsed by European artists, film directors and musicians here are a few from the Meze Audio Artists endorsements praising the sound quality of the Meze Audio 99 Classic Series.

Kevin Creekman,  a social media influencer known for modeling, tattooing and fitness lifestyle and a guitarist and bassist for many bands. Creekman has toured with Arch Enemy, Kreator, and Gil Ofarim. He said, "The 99 Classics headphones fulfilled my expectations and high standards in every aspect ... best audio performance and wearing comfort and a beautiful high quality modern vintage look (as I love it with all my Instruments) are making me perfectly happy!"

Low Roar, Ryan Karazija (L) and Kevin Creekman (R).

Low Roar, Ryan Karazija

A traveler looking for the right place, Low Roar front man Ryan Karazija, he bounced around from Northern California to Iceland where he relocated in 2010. That same year, he recorded Low Roar's self-titled debut in his Reykjavik kitchen. Somewhere along the way, his track was playing in an anonymous record store in Reykjavik and overheard by a Japanese video game creator Hideo Kojima [Metal Gear]. The two met and he ended providing the soundtrack for two high-profile trailers for Kojima's Death Stranding video game starring Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, and director Guillermo del Toro.

He said of the Meze Audio 99 Classic Series, "The Meze 99s are exceptional headphones. The highs are pristine, the mid-range perfectly balanced, and the low end present without being overbearing. They look and feel great, and the tight isolation makes listening wonderfully immersive."

Ryan Connolly (L) and Dub FX (R).

Dub FX, massively well known throughout Europe, keeping to his underground roots, Dub has managed to harness an independent career most artists only dream of without the help of commercial media or record labels said, "Massive thank you to Meze Audio for these unbelievably stylish headphones which sound amazing!"

Ryan Connolly, a writer, director, and filmmaker who is best known for his web series Film Riot, a how-to filmmaking show that reveals the effects and techniques behind Hollywood films, said, "The 12 Classics and the 99 Classics are my two go to headphones. Between the two of them, I'm covered for every possible scenario. Whether I'm on set or a flight with the 12 Classics or in Post Production with the 99 Classics - I know I can rely on the truthful sound reproduction I'm getting from Meze products."
