The UK’s Jamie Porter Band Strikes All The Right Cords; Drops Sonic Smile November

Jamie Porter, playing in bands since high school, has cited his inspiration range from Johnny Cash to Bruce Springsteen and now with the Jamie Porter Band he has found his place mixing Country and Classic Rock.

A solid bet, he's gained plenty of experience with gigs around North Wales and the North West of England over the years, playing regularly at The Cavern Club in Liverpool  as well as numerous festivals and sessions for BBC Radio Wales.

As a writer, while contributing to other projects, he never really focused fully on his own material while in other bands.  In 2012 after parting ways with another band, Jamie decided that he wanted to concentrate on writing his own material  so he wrote a number of songs and recorded ten over 2012/13 in a local studio, and then put out two EP’s called ‘Restless Soul’ and ‘A Better Day’.

2014 saw Jamie look for musicians to take his songs out on the road and he was joined by experienced drummer Geraint Vernon, they were then joined by Jamie’s son Dan on bass and shortly after Paul Harrison on guitar and backing vocals.  Later on they were joined by a new bass player Darren Sidell with Dan then moving over to keyboard duties.

2015 saw the release of  single  ‘Save Me’ which gained airplay all over the UK.  A number of live shows at  festivals  then followed over the course of the year with Jamie writing and recording material for a new album made up of songs already in the live set and brand new material.

Late 2015/2016 saw a focus on live performances as well as a number of single releases.
A change in line-up in late 2016 led to the postponement of a planned album release, and during 2017 Jamie began a search for musicians to join him in his live band again.  Dan moved over to guitar and vocals and after numerous auditions and try outs, they were joined by George Williams on bass and Jason Edmunds on drums.

Jamie’s main influences include Johnny Cash, Steve Earle, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen,  Aerosmith and Black Crowes and you can hear that on 'Sonic Smile', it's been a long time coming but it's finally here for you to kick back and turn up.
