Vito Emanuele: Dressing the Dames of the Golden Era

  • Print

Vito Emanuele, a native New Yorker, with an eye for fashion and a imagination for the golden days of iconic Hollywood, when the silver screen produced legends, dames and gents with style, flair and panache, introduces his latest evening wear collection guaranteed to make headlines.

Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Ingrid Bergman, Kim Novak, Tippi Hedren, Eva Marie Saint... icons of style and elegance paired with the artistic genius of Hitchcock is the reason Vito Emanuele became a fashion designer: An artist whose life interest is the pursuit of beauty.

The newly launched men's line is also based on the elegant men of old Hollywood.  Each piece in the collection is named after the classic, leading man. Stars like Humphrey Bogart, Cary Grant, Steve McQueen, Paul Newman and Marcello Mastroianni.

Vito Emanuele Collection

The inspiration for all Vito Emanuele collections comes initially from fabric.  Style and cut, plus the careful hands-on attention to detail are the elements that distinguish true couture.  Usually a beautiful piece of fabric is what dictates the color palette and silhouettes for each collection.

Vito Emanuele always uses the same fabric resources, because they are the very best in the world: Loro Piana, Dormeuil, Holland & Sherry, Solstiss for their beading and lace, and Clerici Tessuto for the most beautiful Italian silks.

This collection includes beautiful ultra suede in camel, luxurious alpaca also in camel, a couple of cashmere items, rich silk velvet in plum, ivory satin and beading, plus my favorite flannels.  Each collection consists of suits, separates, eveningwear, plus outerwear pieces.

All the linings in his clothes are silk.  It feels wonderful against the body, as well as complements the outer fabrics.  The silk lining is one of the luxury details that his clients really appreciate.

This detailing also separates him from his contemporaries, who skip this obvious step by using acetate/poly, yet still charge "designer" prices. For buttons Vito uses mostly mother of pearl, horn and corozo.
