Joan Severance's life has been extraordinary. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas. After early graduation from high school, John Casablancas signed her up with Elite Models agency and at age 18 she went to Paris, France. Her career was meteoric; she walked the runways for haute couture designers including Chanel, Versace, and Armani, and appeared in their campaigns.

She has appeared in over 25 films, including "Bird on a Wire," and "See No Evil, Hear No Evil." Joan is currently writing her second book about her remarkable life as a model and actress with a condition called Vitiligo, which causes the loss of skin color. Her research is taking her all over the world to interview different practitioners and try out their therapies for curing and treating the condition.
