Obama Elected to a Second Term; Romney Vote Shows Deeply Divided Nation - Road to the White House - Election 2012

President Barack Obama has won an historic second term in a deeply bitter and divided race that revealed a sharply contrasted belief in the right direction for America’s recovery and future.

After receiving the call from Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who conceded by speaking on his love and belief in America, thanking the many who worked on his campaign, his wife, children, supporters and the people for believing in him, President Obama addressed his supporters.

Speaking of the same hope in America, President Obama had these words to say in his victory speech, “Tonight, in this election, you, the American people, reminded us that while our road has been hard, while our journey has been long, we have picked ourselves up, we have fought our way back, and we know in our hearts that for the United States of America, the best is yet to come.”

With Democrats celebrating their victory, it is an separate victory as there are many who do not share the optimism, enthusiasm or belief that Obama’s re-election will propel America back from the brink of economic depression. There are those who do not believe the long-term high unemployment, deep economic disparity, poverty, a belief that his plan, although it is the more difficult and suffering through these economic and financial losses that shackle like the yoke of slavery, will ultimately be the better way and the better road for America.
