For the more than 1.2 billion Catholics worldwide, the word of Pope Francis, the most progressive and inclusive Pope in recent history, is a healing balm and his newest mandates will welcome women back into the fold as they seek reconciliation.

In a letter to Priests the Pope said, "I wish to restate as firmly as I can that abortion is a grave sin, since it puts an end to an innocent life. In the same way, however, I can and must state that there is no sin that God's mercy cannot reach and wipe away when it finds a repentant heart seeking to be reconciled with the Father."  He continued, "May every priest, therefore, be a guide, support and comfort to penitents on this journey of special reconciliation. I henceforth grant to all priests, in virtue of their ministry, the faculty to absolve those who have committed the sin of procured abortion."

Pope Francis, who has taken up the mantle and carried out the edicts and examples of Christ in his daily life. He has created change in the church by speaking out against the ‘epidemic of animosity’ toward minorities and the lowly of society, the disregarded, disenfranchised and poverty stricken. At the Vatican, the most scared, holy and revered churches in the Catholic religion, and respected throughout the world, Pope Francis reserves his VIP seats for the local homeless.

The modern and social media embracing Pope uses twitter and speaks daily to the 27million followers, in nine languages, with messages of hope and healing. Join him @Pontifex (English followers). The top three most popular twitter feeds for the contemporary Pontiff is the Spanish with more than 11million, English with 10million, and Italian with more than 3million.

Under his watch, the church has moved closer to top down servant-hood, not allowing himself to issue edicts only, but to practice what he eloquently preaches.
