Spring Temps Tease Thanksgiving Travelers

Following a deep freeze that sent much of the nation into woolens and winter wardrobe, a quick spring thaw with warmer temps has caught the same plunging jet stream and will send a brief respite as far as Deep South.

Much of the nation Monday should see a return to unseasonably warm temperatures although the break will short-lived and by Tuesday the same swath returns to seasonable temperatures.

New Yorker's will have to wait until Tuesday before they can enjoy the unseasonably warm temperatures as Monday's high near 70 degree temps will include spring showers as rain is likely. Tuesday will still see temps in the 50's. Enjoy.

By Wednesday, Thanksgiving Eve, in time for the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Eve Inflation Party will see temperatures seasonably in the 40's with a chance of rain/snow mix. The harsh winter blast that sent temperature plunging below freezing will be gone for awhile.

Thanksgiving Day will be sunny for most of the nation with seasonable temperatures for even those digging out of an historic two day snowfall total nearing 10 foot in the Buffalo, New York region.

The monster, killer winter storm that caused the lake effect snow to pummel Buffalo, Cleveland and other Lake Erie cities are now facing the fast, flash melt which could result in serious flooding.

Residents, in Buffalo, are urged to take precaution as the melting snow could cause excessive standing water in low lying areas as well as road flooding.

A High Wind warning has been issued for cities bordering Lake Erie in Ohio, Michigan, and New York State. Winds of 25 to 35 MPH with gusts up to 60mph could result in downed trees and power lines.
