Austin Serial Bomber Dies in Self-Detonation

Austin Police Chief Brian Manley, along with Special Agents in Charge from FBI and ATF, announced the serial bomber terrorizing the greater Texas city for three weeks had detonated explosive devices as they approached his vehicle killing himself.

In an early morning press conference, Chief Manley described the past three week, the considerable agency resource and inter agency cooperation with both F.B.I. and ATF, working to bring this nightmare to a quick resolution.

At the time of the press conference the suspect was dead inside his car which had been rigged with explosive devices. His identity was made known at a later press conference. Manley also explained the suspect was one of several persons of interest identified earlier this week.

Evidence began to compile as teams initiated the investigations. Soon continued intersections brought in additional and necessary confirmations and proof from advanced technology and old-fashioned detective work built the strength of the case.

Mark Anthony Conditt, 24, was identified later this morning as the mastermind behind the five package explosions that left two dead and four injured.

Austin Victims

The bombings began March 2, 2018 where Anthony House, 39, was killed in the first bomb. On March 12, two packages were delivered. One killed Draylen Mason, 17, an accomplished cellist, and injured his mother. A second bomb detonated critically injuring a 75 year old woman.

On March 18, a tripwire bomb, activated by accident by two passing 20 something men who were slightly injured, confirmed to the Austin police what they had suspected: They were dealing with a serial bomber and he had advanced knowledge of explosive devices. More than 500 agents between two agencies descended on Austin.

After a three week intense manhunt to find, profile and identify the serial bomber terrorizing residents of Austin, Texas, police narrowed the suspects until all that remianed was Conditt.

Authorities indicated he left a 25minute "confession" tape. His youthful appearance, and lack of any identifying political or fringe affiliations or associations, was an anomaly. Even his dress, outside his disguises captured on Fed-Ex surveillance cameras, were of upscale "normal" appearance.

Homeschooled, raised by both parents in a Christian family, the profile which hasn't been released to the public would have missed many of the exteriors.

Police are warning residents to remain vigilant at least for the next 48 hours. If a package looks suspicious notify authorities.
