Election 2016: GOP Presidential Potentials Swells To Double Digits

Potential Republican Candidates for the 2016 GOP Presidential Party nomination has swollen to a robust 26 candidates who have declared or formed exploratory committees with another five candidates showing interest in the nations’ top position.

The pool of Republican hopefuls include five governors, six former governors, one U.S. Representative, fourteen CEO’s, Business and industry leaders, and others, four current senators and one former senator.

Of the 31 possible GOP candidates, one is female, one is African American and one is Indian American. Others, while identify as Caucasian have deep European ancestral roots and some are identified to include their faith. One is the son and brother of a former President.

The 20 declared candidates include:

The Honorable Mr. Ted Cruz, U.S. Senator from Texas,

Mr. Dale Christensen, International entrepreneur and business professor,

Dr. Ben Carson, Pediatric Neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins Medical Center,

Mr. Kerry Bowers, Career Air Force Veteran, law enforcement dispatcher and businessman,

Mr. Michael Bickelmeyer, Creative Dreamer,

Mr. Skip Andrews, Business Owner,  

Mr. John Dummett, Jr., Constitutional Republican and strong conservative,

Mr. Mark Everson, Businessman and former IRS Commissioner,

Ms. Carly Fiorina, Businesswoman and former CEO Hewlett-Packard,

The Honorable Mr. Lindsay Graham, U.S. Senator from South Carolina,

Mr. Chris Hill, Former combat pilot and current airline captain,

The Honorable Mr. Mike Huckabee, Former Governor of Arkansas, Man of Faith and TV Personality,

The Honorable Mr. George Pataki, Former Governor of New York State,

The Honorable Mr. Rand Paul, U.S. Senator from Kentucky Rand Paul,

The Honorable Mr. Rick Perry, Former Governor of Texas and 2012 Presidential Candidate,

Mr. Michael Petyo, U.S. Veteran and Business owner,

The Honorable Mr. Marco Rubio, U.S. Senator from Florida,

Mr. Brian Russell, Entrepreneur, innovator and limited government advocate,

The Honorable Mr. Rick Santorum, former U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania.

The six Exploratory Candidates include:

The Honorable Mr. Jeb Bush, Former governor of Florida

The Honorable Mr. Chris Christie, Current governor of New Jersey,

The Honorable Mr. Bobby Jindal, Current Governor of Louisiana

The Honorable Mr. Scott Walker, Current Governor of Wisconsin

Mr. Dennis Michael Lynch, successful entrepreneur and media personality,

Mr. Donald Trump, Businessman and perennial exploratory presidential candidate.

 

The five potential candidates include:

Former governor of Maryland the Honorable Mr. Bob Ehrlich

Former governor of Virginia the Honorable Mr. Jim Gilmore

Current governor of Ohio the Honorable Mr. John Kasich

 

U.S. Representative from New York, the Honorable Mr. Peter King

Governor of Michigan the Honorable Mr. Rick Snyder

The official start to the campaign season begins February 2016 with the Iowa Caucus kicking off the primary season. Democrats will head to the polls on Monday February 1, 2016 and Republicans follow on Tuesday, February 2, 2016.

The month of February continues with New Hampshire primaries February 9, South Carolina February 20 and Nevada Caucus Tuesday February 23.

Super Tuesday, March 1, 2016 will be the separation point in both parties as Democrats will know essentially whom will be the Presidential Nomination and for the republicans the pool of candidates will narrow dramatically as 12 states hold primaries and caucuses on this day.

Seven states have yet to set a firm primary date which may make Super Tuesday truly a clincher date with the potential of 19 states holding primaries.
