The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the Trump Administration's argument on the Birthright Citizenship ban, a key component at the center of his Immigration Policy and could ultimately decide who is considered an American citizen.

 

The President's job approval rating, according to Gallup featured in The New York Times for the period ending December 6, 2025, of those polled who approve of his effectiveness as President remained constant with 36% and those who disapprove of his effectiveness as president remained constant at 60%. A slight 3% of the population polled have no opinion. Ratings are calculated weekly.

Trump Citizenship Ban

As the United States Supreme Court had announced they will hear the Trump Administration's argument on President Trump's Birthright Ban, which contradict the clause in the 14th Amendment which explains that any person born on U.S. soil is considered an American citizen.

The Amendment which was drafted after the abolishment of slavery and in opposition to the Dred Scott Supreme Court decision of 1857, which denied former slaves the right to be American citizens, essentially served to override the Dred Scott court decision.

"That notion, which is rare among the most-developed countries in the world, is grounded in the language of the 14th Amendment. The amendment, ratified after the Civil War, states, "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside," The New York Times reported.

As the nation has continued to evolve and the number of illegal aliens continues to increase, the 14th Amendment, has still been the rule of the land, indicating that any child born on U.S. soil is bestowed the rights of a U.S. citizens.

The Trump Administration, which currently has by executive order instilled a ban on birthright citizenship, does not seek to overturn the amendment but to have the high court decide is lower courts, who ruled the Trump Administration ban was unconstitutional, have the authority to override the authority of a presidential ban.

With Immigration a key component of the Trump Presidency, many immigrants arrive in the country illegally and give birth. In the past the child would automatically be an American citizen. Those who arrived in the country illegally would use this constitutional protection as a tactic to secure protected alien status for themselves.

With the Trump Administration ramping up the deportation of illegal immigrants, the Supreme Court, who accepted the case early enough to render a decision before the summer recess, has yet to announce the date for arguments.

"After the court's announcement that it would hear the case, White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said that the case would "have enormous consequences for the security of all Americans, and the sanctity of American citizenship," The New York Times reported.

Russia Bombards Ukraine

Even as Peace Talks continue, Russian Forces have been relentlessly targeting the Ukraine capital Kyiv in hours long nighttime bombing raids, launching drones and missiles, many of which were downed, before impact.

"Overnight Russia launched 653 drones and 51 missiles, most of which were downed, authorities said. One strike hit a railway hub at the town of Fastiv southwest of Kyiv, destroying the main station building and damaging rolling stock. Russia says it targeted military-industrial sites, and energy and port infrastructure," BBC.com reported.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has adopted a strategy of pound them into submission, as he seeks to force Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, to agree to the terms of the peace deal that relinquishes large regions of his nation, including Crimea, which has been in Russian Control since 2014, and the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhian, and Kherson regions, which the Kremlin has claimed to control.

Peace Talks Stalled

The White House released the following statement "Secretary Rubio and his team reiterated the United States' firm commitment to ensuring that Ukraine's sovereignty, security, and future prosperity remain central to the ongoing diplomatic process."

Ukrainian representatives stated that, "based on the revisions and clarifications presented today, they believe the current draft reflects their national interests and provides credible and enforceable mechanisms to safeguard Ukraine's security in both the near and long term. They underscored that the strengthened security guarantee architecture, combined with commitments on non-aggression, energy stability, and reconstruction, meaningfully addresses their core strategic requirements."

Putin Digs In

The Russian dictator has rejected the latest draft of President Trump's peace plan and has been accused of wasting the world's time, and all evidence supports the fact that he is determined to create as much damage, carnage and destruction as possible, before any peace plan calls for a cease-fire.

As NATO officials grow increasingly concerned over the Kremlin's long game, and the possibility of further military action, as Putin's plan is not simply to regain the entirety of the Ukraine, but to reunify Russian, to its pre-1990 Soviet Union dominance.

Although the European continent, at large, will likely not be part of his agenda, as Putin does not see himself as a Hitler, but more as someone devoted to the ideologies of pre-democratic Russia, and those nations, those wayward children, who broke free, must be brought back into the fold.

Which means currently, if Ukraine ends this war by seceding three regions, Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk,  and legitimizes Russian controlled regions, one thing is certain, in no less than five years, Putin will be amassing troops at the border of free Ukraine, readying once again for another offensive.

As no nation has a crystal ball, and for both nations to stabilize the peace treaty must be enacted.

January 6, 2021 Capitol Siege Suspect Arrested

Attorney General Pam Bondi announced this week a suspect, who had been identified from security tapes, planting bombs at both the Republican National Headquarters and Democratic National Headquarters in Washington DC on the night before the January 6, 2021 Capitol Siege.

Brian Cole, Jr., 30, of Woodbridge, Virginia, was arrested and taken into custody. Although, from security video, identifiable facial features of the suspect were obscured, making a positive identification impossible.

"Charging documents filed in U.S. District Court in Washington described how investigators matched the pipes, end caps, battery connectors, kitchen timers, electrical wires and steel wool retrieved from the undetonated bombs to purchases Cole had made in 2019 and 2020 at several Northern Virginia stores, including Home Depot, Lowes and Walmart," The Washington Post reported.

After a meticulous four year investigation, officials were able to place the suspect in the area, through surveillance camera, and license plate verification, and continued, through reverse engineering, determine the origin of each of the elements used to craft the devices. Once they determined purchase point, they sifted through the vast amount of individuals making identical or similar purchases and matching or rejecting them as potential suspects.

The suspect, an African-American, is not known to have extreme political ideologies, lives with his family in the suburbs of Washington, DC. He is described a quiet person and was known to have been bullied as a student.

Coronavirus Total

At the order of the President of the United States, the U.S. no longer recognizes the value of The World Health Organization. The CDC has recommended every person from age six months, including senior citizens should receive at least one shot of an updated COVID-19 vaccine, annually.  The death toll from Covid-19 has dramatically decreased, as has transmission of the virus. Even as confirmed new cases continue each week, fewer are dying from the newer variants.

For the seven days ending December 6, 2025, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases reported by the World Health Organization increased by 19,362 to 778,941,941. The total worldwide death toll increased by 73 to 7,103,414 deaths. The United States has stopped providing Covid data to the World Health Organization. TSA Initiates Fee For those Without Real IDs

The TSA, the Transportation Security Administration, announced this week that travelers have three months to secure a Real ID or Passport to clear TSA security check or pay a $45 dollar surcharge which is only valid for ten days.

"This fee ensures the cost to cover verification of an insufficient ID will come from the traveler, not the taxpayer," Adam Stahl, a senior official performing the duties of deputy TSA administrator, said in a statement.

While the surcharge does not take effect until February 1, 2026, Holiday travelers should be aware that failure to present accepted documentation could result in extensive delays, and travelers could be pulled from lines, and subject to interviews, resulting in missed flights, connections, disruptions and delays.

TSA officials are urging travelers are urging travelers to use the online automated system to manage any Real ID issues. A list of acceptable Identification can be found here.

Frank Gehry, Renowned Architect, Dies

Renowned Architect Frank Gehry, designer of the Walt Disney Concert Hall, in Los Angeles, died this week in his home in Santa Monica, California, after a brief illness. He was 96.

"Mr. Gehry was considered one of the most imaginative and expressive architects of his generation and ranked among the most important designers since Frank Lloyd Wright. His works became landmarks around the world, challenged the rigid formalism of modernist architecture, blurred the borders of architecture and sculpture, and impelled new methods of design and construction," reported The Washington Post.

Gehry's work evoked feelings and was either loved and lauded or disliked and compared to garbage cans being peeled. The designs, which captured the world's attention, included shimmering silver crusted skateboard style half-pipes loops forming an unusual façade, that is as much as statement as a monument to the craft. This usually and easily identified style of building can be seen throughout the world, including Millennial Park in Chicago, in Prague, Las Vegas, Panama, Paris, and the Dwight D. Eisenhower Museum in Washington, DC. Once seen, Gehry's works are unmistakable.

Although interested in architecture in High School, Gehry was shown a home in the process of being built and was immediately hooked. A professor suggested he take a class. And he did. While some may say the rest is history, Gehry graduated from USC and began what he believed was his passion, the development of housing projects. This lasted for a year, before boredom set in, and Gehry decided to move to Europe to study European architecture.  He eventually returned to the United States and began his career in earnest.

He was one parodied on "The Simpson's," where it was mentioned that he gained his inspiration from a crumpled piece of paper. For many, his creations do resemble a crumpled piece of paper, an unconventional and eccentric design. For some, the long sheets with rounded curves, appearing to twist together, defy the idea of a building, and what society is traditionally taught to believe buildings should resemble.

Gehry is survived by his wife and children.
