Biden-Harris Administration Take Office

The Biden-Harris Administration officially moved into the White House this week, and wasted no time, due to the Covid-19 restrictions, with hoopla, celebration, and dancing the night away at the many parties that would have been part of the inaugural celebration in different times.

And after the tumultuous four years, capped with a presidential incited sedition, it's hard to tell if this administration would have participated in the excess, which became a benchmark for the Trump Administration.

Over the next two days following the inauguration President Biden signed more than 40 Executive Orders, many of which he expounded on during the campaign trail and others geared toward bolstering social programs to assist struggling Americas.

Seven of the first thirty executive orders were reversals of Trump Era policies and included, addressing issues of equity, the coronavirus, the climate, economy, immigration, and census. Fourteen Executive Orders dealt with combating the coronavirus, including stopping the withdrawal of the United States from the World Health Organization.

Paris Accord

Beginning with the Paris Agreement, a legally binding agreement among every nation to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases, address the earth's temperature, and crating competitive strategies for nations who have the highest emission of greenhouse gases. To date 197 countries have signed the Paris Accord. The United States official rejoined through one of the first Executive Orders. Former Secretary of State John Kerry has been named in a newly established Climate Czar position.

He also reversed the XL Keystone Pipeline and direct agencies to review more than 100 Trump policies and actions on the environment.

Immigration and the many facets, including continuing construction on the Border Wall, DACA, and the Muslim Ban were also on Biden's agenda.

President Biden, VP Harris, Take Oaths

Immigration

The strict Trump era Immigration policy which saw many protective orders banning the entry of citizens from some Muslim based countries, was immediately rescinded. Of course, the DACA legislation which provided sanctuary for those children who had arrived illegally in the United States, and never managed the business of applying for citizenship or managing their living status, will be enacted.

"On his first day in office, Biden signed six executive orders and issued several more directives related to immigration and border security, and also proposed an immigration bill that would give the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the U.S. the opportunity to gain citizenship in eight years, shorter than the 13-year pathway in previous bills introduced in Congress," reported AZcentral.com.

Proponents of the DACA legislation effectively parades the best and the brightest. Individuals who have taken full advantage of all that America offers.

The Dreamers status should usher in equality when in fact it provides those who entered the country illegally through no fault of their own, received services, worked to change their destiny, investing in a future which is the difference, and them allows provides them special employment status due to their nationality.

"DACA reflects a judgment that these immigrants should not be a priority for removal based on humanitarian concerns and other considerations, and that work authorization will enable them to support themselves and their families, and to contribute to our economy, while they remain," President Biden said through a released memorandum on DACA.

Investment in a future, is like stock investment in futures, will generally pay a dividend. Americans, of all races, nationalities, and background, who by birthright or through legal means, have citizenship are then placed at the end of the line so the DREAMERS, the illegals can be given citizenship they didn't earn.

The Border Wall

The Border Wall, an effective strategy imposed by the Trump Administration, which drastically curbs the entry of illegals aliens has been "paused." As to its future, Senate Republicans will need to present hard facts, which support U.S. Border Control assessment of the Wall's effectiveness.

Presently, a mass of central American citizens, has made their way to the southern U.S. Border with the expectation of permission to enter the United States.

President Biden who ran on controlling the coronavirus, cannot allow these undocumented immigrants into the country. The flood of illegals jeopardizes the COVID management effort within our nation necessity for herd immunity.

Biden Extends Housing Moratoriums

The Executive order signed by Biden extending the existing moratorium on foreclosures and evictions at least until March 31, is expected to be addressed in the Biden Recovery Plan with a further extension until September.

Housing service providers offer long-term stays, such as Airbnb, an aggregate site which connects renters with units and profits from each booking and provides mediation services between "long-term stays" and the provider have refused to address the issue and follows the directives of the homeowner or other who has the authority to remove an individual.

The providers of housing skirt the mandate by explaining to those who are in long-term stay arrangements that as they are not traditional renters they are not covered by the federally mandated moratorium.

Biden Economic Recovery Plan, 100 Day Vaccination Challenge

President Elect Joe Biden presented his economic plan this week, a 1.9Trillion dollar wide-reaching economic plan geared toward fast tracking the control of the coronavirus, and alleviating the human suffering through additional direct stimulus, unemployment boosts, and a moratorium on evictions.

"Called the "American Rescue Plan," the legislative proposal would meet Biden's goal of administering 100 million vaccines by the 100th day of his administration and advance his objective of reopening most schools by the spring. On a parallel track, it delivers another round of aid to stabilize the economy while the public health effort seeks the upper hand on the pandemic," The APnews.com reported.

Vaccination Challenge

While all experts agree herd immunity, controlling the virus, which essentially equates to a vaccination rate of at minimum 85% of the densest urban populations, is the single highest priority to regaining the strength of the economy and subsequently lost revenues.

With the clock ticking, President Biden ambitious agenda of 100million vaccinations in 100days, needs to be presented with a "Can Do" united front instead of attempts at dismantling the agenda and mounting divisive counterproductive agendas.

To achieve this goal, the Biden plan must address herd communities and industries. Across America, daily, Hospitals rank as the highest herd community in the nation with more than 40million medical personnel, staff, administrators, and patients.

Colleges and Universities across the nation generally have a total population of 20million people including all faculty, staff, administrators, and students. Using this methodology industries from the CEO to the custodial staff can be vaccinated, under one directive. FEMA must provide staging units.

Trump Impeachment

The impeachment trial of former President Trump, which passed the House of Representatives and who hold sole power of the impeachment process declared, "That Donald John Trump President of the United States is Impeached for High crimes and Misdemeanors." Full text available here.

The United States Senate has announced the impeachment trial will begin Tuesday, February 9, 2021, which will allow them to first address the legislation presented by the President consider his cabinet members and allow the President sufficient time to prepare for trial.

"President Trump convinced tens of millions of his followers of false claims about a stolen election and widespread fraud, none of which is true. Key members of his own administration called it the most secure election in history. Much of the mob that stormed the Capitol echoed Trump's talking points, which were only amplified by conservative media in the runup to the Jan. 6 violence," reported NPR.org.

"The symbolism is 'look, we want to make clear that nobody is above the law,'" explains Sheri Berman, a political scientist at Barnard College, which is affiliated to Columbia University in New York. "The president incited sedition, incited violence and so it's important for democracy with the rule of law to hold him accountable," reported dw.com.

Larry King, Hank Arron, Walter Bernstein

The coronavirus has killed more than 400,000 Americans and the lives lost continues to grow weekly. The loss is felt across all fifty states, and every nation around the world. To name three lives lost this week seems small and a belief that these lives hold grater significance than each life, those known and the unknown, that have passed throughout this devastating pandemic.

Larry King, Hank Arron, and Walter Bernstein, three Americans who passed this week each held a place in history.

Many will remember Hank Arron, who broke racial barriers in the sport and became one of the greatest baseball players of all time. Beginning his career during racial segregation, Aaron played with the Negro leagues. Deeply undervalued, his contract was purchased by the Braves for "a steal." Aaron went on to 20 years with the Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves and his final two seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers. He remained devoted to the team that brought him up from the minors and integrated baseball. His 755 career home runs record which stood for more than three decades and remains the number two an MLB league record 45 years later. Aaron was 86.

Walter Bernstein, a Hollywood producer, and screenwriter, who had been subpoenaed to testify before House Committee on Un-American Activities (HCUA), and eventually suffered the Blacklist fate that so many other screenwriters experienced during a senate led witch-hunt singingly out those who held opposing political beliefs which the U.S. Government, and Senator Joseph McCarthy (R-WI) believed where detrimental to the fabric of American, seditious, and communist. Bernstein, like others, managed to survive this time and nearly a decade later rebounded thanks to friendships he had made. Bernstein was 101.
