Anne Heche, On Life Support, Not Expected to Survive

Anne Heche, 53, who has been hospitalized in critical condition with severe burns and pulmonary injuries since she crashed her car into a house, one week ago, is not expected to recover or regain consciousness.

Heche, who had narcotics in her system at the time of the crash according to the Los Angeles Police Department, became trapped in her Mini-Cooper, as fire engulfed the house and her vehicle and was unable to escape. She suffered severe burns and smoke inhalation.

Heche is being kept on life support, as it was her wish to have any viable organ donated.

Her team released an update on the star's condition.

"We want to thank everyone for their kind wishes and prayers for Anne's recovery and thank the dedicated staff and wonderful nurses that cared for Anne at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills hospitals.

Unfortunately, due to her accident, Anne Heche suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and remains in a coma, in critical condition. She is not expected to survive.

It has long been her choice to donate her organs and she is being kept on life support to determine if any are viable.
