As NYC Fashion Week begins a look back at trends past beginning with The Rebecca Taylor Spring 2008 Show held when the tents were at Bryant Park after previewing funky fuchsias’ and arresting reds, slinky camisoles and sexy slip tops to standing room only crowd of buyers, trendsetters, fashionistas, publishers and media.

 

The essence of Ms. Taylor’s design and pursuit is to create garments that are comfortable, easy to wear, interchangeable and look good! The feminine styling and sexy silk slip tops.

The spring line as revealed on the runway consisted of several pieces that utilized lipstick shades of shimmering party-girl red and Funky Fuchsias in the whole garment as well as woven into hemline design, Camisole tops and bodice styling. 

Summer whites, Camisole Dresses, Slinky Camisole slip tops with a scallop edges paired with military inspired jackets, khaki pant with beaded gauze top.

Rebecca Taylor is a New Zealand born Fashion Designer based in New York.  She began her design career at St. Catherine’s College in Wellington.  Ms. Taylor’s dream as a fashion designer has the earmarks of a New York story: a little luck and a lot of talent.

She arrived in New York with six hundred dollars and her dream. She landed employment with designer Cynthia Rowley where she worked for six years. During this time she prepared her debut collection as part of the Gen Art Styles competition at New York’s Fashion Week. Her own label premiered at the Tents in 1999.

The Rebecca Taylor line is a multi-million dollar corporation with boutiques throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.

Her celebrity clientele include Sarah Jessica Parker, Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslet, Uma Thurman and Jennifer Lopez. Her clothing has been featured on Sex in the City and on the Today Show.
