Uncork'd Entertainment has acquired the U.S and Canadian rights to award-winning survival thriller The Lighthouse, and plans for a Summer 2018 theatrical release. Visually stunning, The Lighthouse was awarded the 2017 BAFTA for Visual Effects, a significant victory for the indie film.

The Lighthouse, directed by Chris Crow and starring Michael Jibson and Mark Lewis Jones, was nominated for five BAFTA awards including Best Director, Best Actor, Best Editor Best Photography and Lighting and Special, Best Visual Effects and Graphic for which it won.

A psychological thriller, the film presents the story, based on real events, of two men trapped in an isolated lighthouse, stranded for months, surrounded by the deadly Irish sea, battered by a freak storm that seems never ending.

As the storm rages outside, mentally the two are fighting against the deepening darkness that creeps into their minds ultimately pushing them to the brink of madness testing the limits of darkness and isolation.
