PVBLIC Foundation Donates $100,000 of Media to Sundance Award-Winning Doc BLOOD BROTHER

October 17, 2013--- BLOOD BROTHER – a film by Steve Hoover, the 2013 Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award winning documentary, today launched a new media campaign through an in-kind donation of $100,000 through the PVBLIC Foundation.

The online campaign will support the film’s theatrical release throughout the fall; the profits from which are being donated to benefit the children seen in the film and to HIV/AIDS initiatives.

BLOOD BROTHER is being released at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema in New York City on October 18th and at the Laemmle Royale in Los Angeles on October 25th. Special, one-night only engagements in over 50 other cities are happening in the coming weeks in collaboration with Tugg.com, which is enabling communities nationwide to host screenings of BLOOD BROTHER in local theaters, schools and community venues.

“We always intended for our campaign to be about more than just releasing a film, but about trying to help make a difference – that’s why we chose to donate all the profits from our release,” said director Steve Hoover. “With the help of the PVBLIC Foundation, we’re now able to share Blood Brother with audiences nationwide and to further support the orphanage and other HIV/AIDS initiatives.”

“PVBLIC is proud to help raise awareness for this powerful film that beautifully illustrates the impact one person can have on the lives of so many,” said Rachel Cohen Gerrol, Executive Director of PVBLIC Foundation. “BLOOD BROTHER reaches beyond the statistics of the youth HIV/Aids crisis in India and humanizes the issue for audiences worldwide.”
