Rich-Rey Productions LLC has announced the Bay Area Premiere of HATTIE MCDANIEL…WHAT I NEED YOU TO KNOW! starring Vickilyn Reynolds as Hattie McDaniel, the trailblazing Gone with the Wind Academy Award-winner will open for an exclusive limited engagement.

HATTIE MCDANIEL… will perform from June 21 – 24, 2018 at the Cowell Theatre located within the Fort Mason Center for Arts and Culture (2 Marina Blvd, Landmark Building C, Suite 260, San Francisco, CA 94123).

HATTIE MCDANIEL…WHAT I NEED YOU TO KNOW! takes the audience on a dramatic musical journey exploring Hattie's life from her early childhood, her relationship with her family and her difficult decision to leave and move to Los Angeles. Audiences will witness her pursuit of artistic dreams during a time filled with racism and segregation.

About Vickilyn Reynolds ("Hattie McDaniel," Playwright and Co-Executive Producer)

Vickilyn Reynolds has starred and co-starred in many feature films, television and commercials. Theatre became a passion for Vickilyn after being featured off Broadway in George C. Wolfe's Colored Museum, in which she portrayed five characters. Ms. Reynolds was featured as "da Singer" in Bring in da Noise, Bring in da Funk and has traveled the world as a solo vocalist for dignitaries and royalty upon their request.

She has also studied with Marlon Brando for an intensive documentary Lying for a Living. Ms. Reynolds has garnered nominations from the NAACP, Drama Desk Awards, a recipient of the Chicago's 1998 Best Performance, Black Theatre Alliances Award, 1998 Best Performance theatre LA Ovation Award and 2005 Telly Award for Acting and Associate Producer, and the 2007 Denver's Ovation Award Nomination and 2008 won the Audelco Award for Outstanding Performance in a Musical/Female for Hattie…What I Need You To Know!

Byron Nora a native of New Orleans, Louisiana is a highly respected and sought-after director, actor, set designer and acting dialogue coach.... a humble and talented man. Mr. Nora is Managing Director of both BAMN Ensemble and BAMN-BAMN Youth Ensemble, and  E.T.I. (Educational Theatre Institute).  He is the Program Manager of the youth arts and educational program, PEACE 2000 (Promoting Educational, Artistic, and Career Excellence). He is an accomplished actor having appeared in many stage productions, film, television, and numerous commercial spots. A recipient of several NAACP nominations in the following categories: Best Director, Best Director in a Musial and Set Design. Byron has traveled the world as a singer and as a model the "Calvin Man" for Calvin Klein Cologne.
