World News: War or Peace – Netanyahu and Putin Show True Colors

As the Ukrainian and Middle Eastern conflicts drag on, the attitude of the leaders who are leading them, here Vladimir Putin and Benjamin Netanyahu, whose intentions for conciliation remain uncertain, and are questioning at the very least.

From Vladimir Putin to Benjamin Netanyahu, it would be relevant to ask whether both want peace? Not a temporary, fragile and poorly negotiated peace, but a peace, on the contrary, lasting and based on the interests of the belligerents.

World News: Israel Pummels Gaza, Death Toll Rises

Because by continuing to bomb the Gaza Strip, the Israeli Prime Minister proves the opposite and raises questions; as did Vladimir Putin by multiplying drone attacks on Kiev and Ukraine. The second question that arises is why these two heads of state are pursuing this bellicose logic when it would be necessary, in view of the human and military conditions prevailing in the theater of operations, to cease all hostilities.

As for Vladimir Putin, in addition to the advantage on the ground is the psychological ascendancy that he has over his counterpart, Donald Trump. The President of the United States, in a hurry to settle the conflict, would be ready to do anything to seal a lasting peace, even if it means giving in to many compromises likely to satisfy Vladimir Putin.

Military Aid

But, objectively, it is also clear that the Russian President does not fundamentally need Donald Trump, an interlocutor of circumstance who also sees in the settlement of the Russian question a way to legitimize his international stature when doubts about his domestic policy arise even within his electorate.

All in all, Vladimir Putin, who sees no problem in continuing the war knowing full well that the United States will never go further in terms of military aid than it has gone in its assistance to Ukraine, is negotiating with the American President in complete peace of mind by setting his conditions in a conflict that he wanted and whose end he will set.

As for Benjamin Netanyahu, if the situation is diametrically opposed to that prevailing in Ukraine, the latter having engaged in the conflict with Hamas in the name of Israel's security, the Israeli Prime Minister's warlike logic is driven by the assurance of the United States' support in a region that fears more than anything a general conflagration, hence the generally timid reactions of neighboring Arab countries.

Doctrine Monroe

Offending Uncle Sam could have serious consequences, as the Iraqi example of 2003 proved. However, Israel also knows that its action, criticized and condemned internationally, will never be followed by any military intervention or threat aimed at coercing or stopping its operation. Two warlike logics, two heads of state and a cornerstone, the United States.

Donald Trump, who during his election campaign wanted to revive the Monroe Doctrine and extract the United States from the role of world policeman (Barack Obama had also begun to launch the process), thus finds himself, not out of himself, but out of necessity, arbitrating, or at least trying, conflicts far from a nation concerned about its own comfort.
