Flexymovies Presents Berlin Premiere Of Sky Original THE DISUNITED STATES OF AMERICA

FlexyMovies has picked up from Sky Italia the international rights to its original production THE DISUNITED STATES OF AMERICA, winner of best social-issue documentary and best cinematography awards at Atlanta Docufest, and will be handling sales starting at EFM in Berlin.

"World-renowned director, Luis Prieto has a knack for commercially viable films that are at the same time socially relevant, with powerful messages that speak to the global marketplace." Said Alessandro Masi, Film & TV Business Strategist at Los Angeles based FlexyMovies. "We're thrilled to be working with such a talented team and to be able to screen the film for buyers in Berlin."

An eye-opening documentary directed Luis Prieto, who recent films include KIDNAP starring Halle Berry, which took in more than $30M US at the Box Office and PUSHER, will be screening for press & industry at the upcoming EFM, along with FlexyMovies' lineup that includes Turkish horror sensation 'Vlad's Legacy' and Kyrgyz Oscar submission 'A Father's Will'

THE DISUNITED STATES OF AMERICA is an insight into the lives and minds of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton supporters, a portrait of their fears and beliefs in the months leading up to the unparalleled 2016 election.

The Lighthouse, 2017 BAFTA Winner, Acquired by Uncork'd; Theatrical Release Summer 2018

"In this time of increasingly polarized American ideals, THE DISUNITED STATES OF AMERICA follows the most important voice of the 2016 Presidential election - the American people themselves, in their own words.  The most important thing we can do is listen to each other, to humanize instead of demonizing those people who we disagree with.  We hope this film helps start that dialogue and show that we're not really as far apart as we think we are" says producer J.M. Logan ('Kidnap', 'The Circle', 'Apocalypto').

Produced by Radical Productions in collaboration with Indiana Production Company, this cinematic documentary runs for 87 minutes taken from more than 400 hours of footage by four crews across the United States, a country – according to the filmmakers' vision - unified by core values of freedom and democracy but also divided on principle mostly by misunderstandings and lack of communication.

"When you strip away all the partisan politics and the sensationalized stories, which are often meant to drive a divisive narrative, you're left with regular people. The people that we followed in this film all have families, challenges, dreams. Getting to know them and their stories has been a tremendous honor. I'm thrilled that more people are going to be able to spend some time with these extraordinary humans" adds co-producer Jesse Einstein, while according to David winner editor Federico Conforti ('They Call Me Jeeg', 'The Oath') "this film is a great sample of cinéma vérité - it tells the story of the most recent American election from the point of view of the people from swing states. It's like opening a window facing the neighbors' lives and noticing that most of the times the dividing line is really thin."
