From Cannes: James Gray and RT Features Re-Team for 80s Semi-Autobiographical Memoir "Armageddon Time"

RT Features announced at Cannes that they will be re-teaming with director James Gray (The Immigrant, The Lost City of Z, upcoming Ad Astra) on his next feature film, Armageddon Time, a memoir about Queens New York in the mid 1980's.

Gray has penned the script and will direct, with RT Features' Rodrigo Teixeira (Call Me By Your Name, The Witch) producing. CAA Media Finance arranged the financing and will represent the sales rights. Casting is currently underway, with principal photography set to commence in New York early next year.

RT Features and Gray first partnered on the sci-fi film Ad Astra, starring Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Ruth Negga, and Donald Sutherland. RT developed the film with Gray who directed and co-wrote for New Regency and Fox.

He pitched this idea to me during one of our lunch breaks on the set of Ad Astra. I have always loved watching his films and we bonded over film trivia - his knowledge is just incredible! Gray is an acclaimed writer and director with multiple feature titles and accolades to his name. His feature film credits include: The Yards, Little Odessa, We Own the Night, Two Lovers, The Immigrant, and The Lost City of Z. He will next direct I Am Pilgrim for Matthew Vaughn's Marv Films and MGM. Gray grew up in Queens, New York, a city that inspires a great deal of his work and is represented by CAA.

RT Features is premiering three films during Cannes this year: Danielle Lessovitz's Port Authority and Karim Aïnouz's Invisible Life in Un Certain Regard, and Robert Eggers' The Lighthouse, starring Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe, in Director's Fortnight. CAA reps RT Features.
