Beltway Insider: Trump, Pelosi, Impeachment, Ukraine, China, Whitey Bulger, Sanders/Omar/Student Loan, Diahann Carroll

President Trump continued his war on the Democrats and the media challenging the recent revelations of asking Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Democratic Presidential challenger Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, in exchange for foreign aid.

According to Gallup, President Trump's job approval rating, which was tracked for the two week time period ending September 15, 2019, increased two percentage points to 43% of those polled who approve of his effectiveness as President and those who disapprove of his effectiveness increased one percentage points to 54%. A slight 3% of the population polled have no opinion. Ratings are calculated bi-monthly.

Impeachment Heats Up

As the Impeachment possibilities slowly come to a rolling boil, President Trump has begun to issue his "fear mongering rhetoric" language that he used often and especially during the debates with former democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

Clinton, whose name has come up repeatedly as Trump attempts to paint broad brushstrokes of the former Secretary of State, stoking the fires of the faithful that elected him in 2016, invoking the image of a deeply corrupt, unqualified, a do anything necessary candidate to secure the White House candidate.

He or an aide, as the tweets referred to the president in the third person, recently lambasted his twitter audience with a series of messages indicating he has the mind of the Evangelical Christian and is acutely aware that "the democrats don't care if they burn down and destroy this nation in the process. I have never seen the evangelical Christians more angry over any issue than this attempt to illegitimately remove this president from office, overturn the 2016 Election and negate the votes of millions of Evangelicals in the process. They know the only Impeachable offense that President Trump has committed was beating Hillary Clinton 2016. That's the unpardonable sin for which the Democrats will never forgive him."

"If the democrats are successful in remove the president from office (which they will never be), it will cause a civil war like fracture in this nation from which our country will never heal," Pastor Robert Jeffress.

Trump continues to pitch himself as the underdog candidate, when he is in actuality the do anything to win candidate. Tapping into the religious right is party politics, it has nothing to do with personal beliefs, essentially it is eye candy, an accessory, make-up, which is intended to polish him up and make the revelations from his past magically go away before the next campaign season.

Pelosi Announces Impeachment Hearings "No Person is Above the Law"

Democrats, who have been determined to impeach the president since the 2016 election, now must walk a fine line, between legality and vengeance. One false move and the odds increase for an additional four years for Donald Trump.

The words of freshman Democratic Representative Rashida Tlaib, (D-MI), who spoke early after her election in words that were best suited for the street, will continue to haunt the party branding the freshman as hatemongers and the senior members as angry losers.

Trump on the other hand is unable to let go of Hillary. She has, even now, remained the women he loves to bash. He exhibits this long term, it's only politics, hate campaign against someone who clearly won the popular vote and as Americans have seen twice in the past two decades, the candidate with the popular vote didn't gain the office.

World News: Glacial Air Flow at the United Nations

Clearly and conclusively the 2016 election was influenced by Moscow. The extent of which has yet to be determined and may never be, although what is clear the hate mongering President and his campaign strategist knew the pulse of the American people and presented a campaign that allowed the wallow in the mud, pressing every hot button issue and say fuck you to the establishment. He, so unlike this he represents, became them, saw the office as an opportunity for a hostile takeover.

House, Senate, and the Process

With Washington abuzz with Impeachment the process, which begins in the House of Representatives as Majority leader Representative Nancy Pelosi, (D-CA), has opened an official inquiry

"Generally, the opening of the official inquiry marks one of the first steps in the impeachment process and consists of House lawmakers gathering evidence, subpoenaing witnesses, and reviewing information about the president. It usually begins in the House Judiciary Committee. Once House lawmakers' investigation is complete, they can decide whether or not to recommend articles of impeachment, or charges to be specifically brought against the president. The House Judiciary Committee would vote on these charges and then advance them to a vote by the full House," as reported in Vox.com.

Following this first phase, and should the charges advance, and in this case, the likelihood is 100% the house would advance the vote to a full house, meaning every representative, all 435, would vote to impeach or not. The Democrats hold the majority and while it is considered a done deal, the vote hasn't been held yet.

Once the vote is held and should a full House vote to impeach the process moves to the Senate. The republicans hold the majority in the Senate which creates the chance the President, could be vindicated by the senate.

It is a risky gamble that includes the possibility of pushback from GOP constituents that believe it is a witch hunt and one more attempt by the democratic party to silence or sanction their elected leader. He is also the "fuck you" candidate. Which defines a demographic of voters who have had very little control in the political arena, those who believe the process is actually governed by the wealthiest, or the ultra 1%, or it is all "fixed" anyway.

Which means the millions who voted for him would see the impeachment as a personal attack by the ultra wealthy to once again steal back and steal from them. This carries the possibility of boomeranging and becoming the derailing of the 2020 election.

Ukraine – Trump's New Best Friend or Nearest Nation to Russian Border

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky has suddenly found himself in the news, for all the wrong reasons as he is once again under scrutiny for his conversation with President Trump and, in veiled or not language, agreeing to be the President's patsy in exchange for foreign aid.

His conversation with President Trump in which the President asked him to investigate Democratic Presidential challenger Joe Biden and his son hunter, became a financial windfall for his nation.

Even as the 2016 election is a bitter memory the facts, which have been revealed post-election indicate the senior members of the President's team had contact with senior officials in the Russian government.

A Different Kind of Force – Policing Mental Illness

"While Mueller did not find evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian meddlers, Mueller did not clear Trump of all wrongdoing on the question of obstruction of justice," Forbes Magazine reported (05/29/2019).

The issue of course is President's Trumps still cozy feeling towards Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the last G7 meeting, the president spoke to the foreign leaders specifically on behalf of the suspended leader and stated Russia's suspension, and by extension Putin, should be lifted and he should be allowed to return.

For those who have forgotten, Putin, during the 2012 Sochi Winter Olympics amassed military presence at the Olympic Village which sits on the edge of the Black Sea with only a thin stretch of land known as the Crimean Peninsula separating the Ukraine and Russia.

In the early mornings, after the Olympic flame had been extinguished, Russian tanks rolled across the Peninsula and in minutes the had annexed the sovereignty of the Ukraine and effectively took Crimean and in less than two weeks had determined the people needed to affirm Putin's decision was for their own good and put the annexation to a vote. He was overwhelmingly accepted by the people of Crimean. It has been under Russian rule since.

The Ukraine, which had been preparing for EU entry at the time remained steadfast even has Putin funded rebels on the Eastern border, and shot down the MH17, Malaysian Airlines with 298 people on board.

China – Dealing with the Devil or Skirting The Tariff's

Trump used his intense hatred of the media to send a clear message to the Chinese President, stating, "China should start an investigation into the Biden's." Trump, who has used the same attack dog style of politicking is now having foreign nations who are in need, in one way or another, of favor from the volatile and often flighty President.

Trump, who has continued his Tariff war against China bragged he has collected $175billion in two months. In August 2019, the US collected $63billion and in September the US collected $112billion which is a deep contrast to March 2019 when the US collected on 5.08billion in tariffs.

Trump, who has stated in the past, he would have no issue with accepting dirt or inside information from a foreign government on a Presidential candidate obviously has no trouble asking for the dirt either.

The Chinese understand the need for the US market to sell their goods and with the December 15, 2019 deadline looming which increases the tariffs on electronics the Chinese are ready to play "Let's Make a Deal."

Catherine Greig, Whitey Bulger Ex, Home from Prison

Catherine Greig, the longtime girlfriend of Boston Mobster James "Whitey" Bulger, who was beaten to death October 30, 2018, on the day of his transfer to a Hazelton Prison in West Virginia, has been released and is living with Bulger's family in Hingham, Massachusetts.

Bulger, who fled Boston when tipped of an impending arrest, lived peacefully in Santa Monica, California with Greig for 15 years, while an intense manhunt for the former Winter Hill Gang leader swirled around them.

They were arrested in Santa Monica, June 22, 2011. The Boston Globe recently reported Greig was living in with relatives of Bulger. She will have repaid her debt to society for her part in harboring her former lover, Whitey Bulger and refusing to testify, in July 2020. Until then she is restricted to her home and monitored with an ankle bracelet.

Student Loan Total Forgiveness Gathers New Momentum

With the 2020 Presidential thirteen months away, the campaign issues are rising to the surface one of which is the crippling $1 trillion dollar student loan debt crisis and how each candidate has set out to handle this staggering economic burden.

In probably the most innovative announcement to come from Washington in decades, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) announced a proposed solution to the $1Trillion Student Loan crisis.

In a recent BET talk Rep. Omar spoke on Student Loan Debt: "What we're proposing is a simple cancellation of all debt, public, and private and the way that we will pay for it you know in the next ten years is to add a small financial transaction to speculators and Wall Street."

She along with Vermont Senator and 2020 Democratic Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has also author the proposal.

Diahann Carroll, Ground-Breaking African American Actress and  Icon, Dies at 84

Diahann Carroll, the ground-breaking African American actress who shattered barriers, and charmed Hollywood and the world with each role she chose, has passed away this week. She was 84.

Carroll portrayed many characters before her "big break" as Julia, the first African American actress to play a role that was not a service-oriented position, in the series of the same name. Cast as a Registered Nurse, Carroll, shattered stereotypes and ushered in the beginning of the black-exploitation era, as her character of Julia introduced an upwardly mobile, attractive female to audiences and as a single mom introduced African American men as her frequent dates.

Bringing the black voices into the mainstream of television and film, she almost single-handedly turned the television world into a new phase of programming. She was later cast as on the Arron Spelling drama, Dynasty, playing the bi-racial Dominique Deveraux.

Ms. Carroll received numerous awards throughout her career including winning a Tony, A Golden Globe for Julia in 1969, and an Academy Award nomination in 1975. She was also nominated for many awards over five decades.
