Moscow International Film Festival Hosts Three Days of Informative Industry Sessions

The 42nd Moscow International Film Festival has released its slate of Industry Sessions, Business Panels, and Open Talks headed by Russia's Film and Entertainment Industry professionals and the winner of the XIV Moscow filmmaker pitch contest will be announced.
On October 1-3, the business platform of the 42nd Moscow International Film Festival will take place at the Oktyabr Festival Center (Hall No. 9) and at the site of the educational partner of the Moscow Film School.
The business platform will host the XIV Moscow pitching of debutants with a total prize fund of 3 million rubles, a panel discussion "Making movies in Russia. Presentation of Regional Film Clusters."

There will also be an Open-talk "How to bring debut films to world markets? Presentation of the EAVE ON DEMAND IN RUSSIA program," "How the Year 2020 Changed Films and Series," as well as the presentation of the CHILL web theater, Anna Gudkova's book "Pitching: How to present and sell your idea."
To participate in the pitching, 950 applications were sent, of which the Selection Committee and the Expert Council included 40 projects in the short-list in the categories Fiction Feature Films, Fiction Short Films, Documentary Films, TV Series, Web Series "(This category will be held for the first time)," Work-in-progress. " In each category, a cash prize of 500,000 rubles will be awarded, as well as prizes from partners and pitching experts.
According to the results of the XII Moscow pitching of debutants, which took place in 2019, 7 films have been filmed or are in production: short films "Sonya Loves, Sonya Does Not Love" (directed by Natalia Belyaeva), "Pot" (directed by Denis Kurlaev), web -series "Natural selection" (directed by Kirill Alekhin); documentaries "Life is a thrill" (directed by Yulia Bobkova, Marina Maria Melnik, Andrey Ananin), "The House We Lived in" (directed by Kristina Khabarova); full-length films "Blues" (directed by Alexey Kamynin), "Yards" (directed by Andrey Korytko).
Representatives of the Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Ulyanovsk regions, Kamchatka Territory, Krasnodar Territory, Perm Territory, the Republic of Tatarstan, the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Republic of Khakassia and other regions of Russia will take part in the panel discussion dedicated to regional film clusters.
Cannes 2020 Special: The Festival Returns to the Croisette
All events will be held in the traditional format for the festival in compliance with all necessary sanitary and epidemiological standards and a limited number of participants (no more than 50 people). In parallel, the Moviestart YouTube channel will broadcast online all the events of the business platform.
