Saban Films Acquires "Long Story Short"

Saban Films announced today that they have acquired North American rights to Long Story Short written, directed by and co-starring Academy Award® nominee Josh Lawson (The Little Death, Bombshell, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues). 

The romantic comedy also stars Rafe Spall (Just Mercy, Life of Pi), Zahra Newman (Truth, "Wentworth"), Ronny Chieng (Crazy Rich Asians, Bliss) and Dena Kaplan ("Dance Academy," "Camp").  Jamie Hilton (Breath, Backtrack, The Little Death) produced alongside Michael Pontin and Isabel Stanfield under their See Pictures banner. The film is backed by STUDIOCANAL, Screen Australia, Screen NSW and Spectrum Films.


Saban Films Acquire U.S. and Canadian Rights To "The Vault"

Long Story Short follows Teddy (Spall), who wakes up the morning after his wedding to discover that every few minutes he's jumping forward to the next year of his life. He must use every precious moment wisely to keep from losing the love of his life, and to learn to love the life he's losing.

Bill Bromiley negotiated the deal for Saban Films with STUDIOCANAL's Loubna Berrada and Aska Yamaguchi and UTA's Independent Film Group on behalf of the filmmakers.  Executive producers are Josh Lawson, Sonia Borella, Cumulus VFX's Will Gammon, Spectrum Films' Josh Pomeranz and Charlie Tynan.  STUDIOCANAL are handling international sales for the film and are releasing the film in Australia and New Zealand.


Saban Films Scores Rights To "Under The Stadium Lights"

Saban Films continues to grow its presence in the industry, remaining active in the acquisition, production and distribution space. The company's successes have run the gamut from critically acclaimed theatrical films such as The Homesman starring Hilary Swank, to two of the biggest Fathom events with horror icon and heavy metal mastermind Rob Zombie's 3 From Hell last year and Kevin Smith's Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, the sequel to the 2001 comedy Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back which the company partnered on after coming onboard at script stage.
