Netflix Chief Ted Sarandos, at a recent conference, called on competitors to match the streaming giant's transparency effort, days before the release of its bi-annual viewership totals in repose to addressing concerns voiced in the recent SAG/AFTRA strike.
Netflix Release Viewership Totals
As Netflix continues to lead the streaming world, with a record 280 million global subscribers, for directors, producers, actors and writers, the release of viewership streaming totals are critical milestones in the trajectory of the future of show creation, development, and the many facets of talent associated with creating a hit streaming show.
"That is kind of an answer to the folks, who were saying 'Hey I don't really get to see how my stuff does.' And I agree that was unfair," Sarandos said. "So, this idea is that the number is out there so that talent can see it, so that agents can see it, so that the press can see it and know what's a hit and what's a miss," reported The Hollywood Reporter.
For SAG/AFTRA members a streaming participation bonus structure is directly tied to streaming viewership.

Time Runs Out for Sean Combs
Disgraced Hip Hop mogul Seam 'Diddy' Combs has been placed on suicide watch in Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention center, after pleading no guilty to racketeering and six crimes charges.
Comb's attorney's Marc Agnifilo and Teny R. Geragos, "tell PEOPLE he is "strong, healthy, and focused on his defense," adding in a statement Friday: "He is committed to fighting this case and has full confidence in both his legal team and the truth."
The federal racketeering charges stem from the action of Combs, and members of his organization, on all levels, from the CEO to the receptionist that ordered car service to transport sex workers, drugs, or make other arrangements. Although not mentioned in the indictment, others, including members of the NYPD, who many have received money or other kickbacks to aid in the cover-up, may eventually be indicted under the RICO statute.
Justice Watch: And They Got Away With It (Part 4)
The first count of the indictment states as much saying "Combs relied on the employees, resources, and influence of the multi-faceted business empire to he led and controlled, creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in, and attempted to engage in, among other crimes, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice." The complete document can be read here.
Essentially, the government understood that organizations, powerful companies, with limitless cash, and notoriety are perfect fronts for the individuals within the organization to commit crime using the company for nefarious purposes.
The countdown to Comb's arrest was some time in the making and as allegations of coerced participation in sex acts meant to groom the participants for prostitution, and allegations by former partners of physical and mental abuse, and a video from a Beverly Hills hotel that showed Combs chasing his girlfriend, and physically assaulting her near the elevators.
The most damaging accounts were filed by Cassie, a former partner. "In the suit, Cassie alleged that Combs raped her, beat her in fits of "uncontrollable rage" and exerted a "tight hold over her life." She alleged that he would force her to engage in sex acts he called "Freak Offs" with other men, often sex workers whom he'd pay to travel with them, while he watched," reported NBCnews.com.

Register to Vote in 2024 Presidential Election
The 2024 Presidential Election is the most pivotal election in modern times. For some the choice is clear, we, as a nation, can go back, and it doesn't mean reelect a former president, so much as it means return to policies that were ineffective and alienated the United States from partners around the world.
No man is an island, and no nation is one either. Former President Trump alienated our foreign partners, he ended America's involvement in the Paris Climate Accord, he has polarizing views on NATO, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, that keeps smaller nations, such as the Ukraine, protected against autocrats and dictators like Russian President Putin.
America needs a new direction, a fresh start. America needs to return honor, dignity, and ethics to the White House. What American does not need is an election, followed by a sentencing hearing, followed by invoking the 25th Amendment, followed by the Vice-president, with no skills, assuming the office of the President, followed by a new appointment for a new VP, while the individual that some may have put their faith in, is sent to prison. This is the future if the Republicans are elected.
Former President Donald J. Trump Found Guilty on All Counts
A fresh start, a new direction, puts all that in the rear view. The contentious political spirit, the hatred of parties, the squabbling, the money for loyalty power play, while it may continue inside the halls of Congress, the people, the constituents, will be better off, better cared for with a Harris/Walz win.
