Fien Troch Juror Of The Orizzonti Jury At The 74th Venice International Film Festival

Belgian director Fien Troch has been selected as a juror of the Orizzonti section at the 74th Venice International Film Festival, which will be held from August 30 to September 9, 2017.

This annual event at the Lido is one of the most prestigious platforms for the promotion of cinematographic art for more than half a century. Last year Fien Troch won the award for Best Director of the Orizzonti section herself with her fourth feature film HOME.

Speaking about the opportunity of being a member of the Orizzonti jury at the Venice International Film Festival, Fien Troch said, "It's a great honour to be part of the Orizzonti jury at Venice, one of the biggest festivals in the world. Having the world premiere of HOME there last year and then winning Best Director was a wonderful opportunity. So to come back this year to award the work of other filmmakers will undoubtedly be an invaluable experience."

Fien Troch will participate in the presentation of the Orizzonti awards for Best Film, Director, Actor, Actress, Screenplay, Short Film and the Jury Award. The jury that will decide will be be presided over by Gianni Amelio and, in addition to Fien Troch, includes the film makers Rakhshan Banietemad, Ami Canaan Mann, Mark Cousins, Andrés Duprat and Rebecca Zlotowski.
