BOSCH, from Amazon Prime, the L.A. detective series that has captivated audiences for six seasons is launching what is rumored to be its last, LA Homicide detective name Bosch works to solve an arson case which led to murder.

The seventh season opens on New Year’s Eve 2019, festivities abound, and Bosch, played by Titus Welliver, is with Judge Sobel, played by Bess Armstrong, at a jazz club. His daughter, Maddie, played by Madison Lintz, is at the home of powerhouse lawyer Honey Chandler, played by Mimi Rogers, for her annual New Year’s Eve party.

Flack Review – Series Offers Insiders View into World of Celeb PR Reps

As the countdown to 2020 begins, on the other side of town, a Hispanic family is celebrating the New Year with neighbors in the building. Suddenly, a SUV rounds the corner, a man steps out and tosses a Molotov cocktail into second floor and the building fills with smoke and flames.

A ten-year-old child dies in the blaze and 2020 begins in Los Angeles with three fatalities.

The eight-episode season focus on January 2020 and the effort to solve the triple homicide. Once Bosch and his team, Jerry Edgar, played by Jamie Hector, and Detective Bennett, played Cynthia Kaye McWilliams, Detective Rondell Pierce, played by Dajuan Johnson, Detective Moore played by Gregory Scott Cummins and Detective Johnson played by Troy Evans, all of whom are worried about the upcoming reassignments as the Hollywood precinct is closing begin to dig into this case, the worse it becomes.

City Hall is experiencing a transition, with a new female Hispanic mayor, and the fight erupts between Police Chief Irvin Irving, played by Lance Riddick, as she wants to remove him and install her own choice and he is determined to keep his position. These two warring factions become part of the sub story, as alliances are made, broken, and leveraged.

Solos Review – Engaging, Brilliant, Captivating Performances

An additional case comes up as Honey Chandler takes on a racketeering client. He wants to plead out and offers to sell information in exchange for no jail time. He offers a well-known, connected, pillar of the community. In deposition prep, she prepares a video tape and at the end, when he divulges names, dates, transactions, Maddie is seen.

Honey takes the client to a safe house, where she of course explains the importance of no electronic use, no calls to anyone, which he does not comply. Wealthy and entitled can often equate to ignorance. Which it does here. Bosch and his team are summoned the next morning to a double homicide.

Suddenly everyone involved with this case is in danger.

Hollywood precinct Lieutenant Grace Billets, played by Amy Aquino, is facing deep internal harassment. Photoshopped images depicting her are being sent around, her girlfriend is harassed and cited for driving under the influence, she is set up for corruption and nearly loses her job. Fellow female cops are facing equally deep level of harassment.

As Bosch and his team close in on the gang members who are responsible for the New Year’s Eve arson and murders, they find their suspect is an informant and are under direct orders to stand down.

Follow the Money Review - Intriguing, Modern, Corporate Crime Drama

As the series finale closes out, it is the end of January 2020, and a bizarre virus is just beginning to make headlines.

With the final scenes, it appears there is a possibility Bosch could see a revival. Although the word from Amazon is this season is the last.

For the true fans, those who have been hanging with the LA Police Department through the trials and tribulations of crime, politics and the turmoil, the ending plants a seed of hope for the possibility the audiences will see more of the jazz loving detective.

BOSCH is streaming on Amazon Prime. A binge-worthy, riveting, crime thriller with the city of angels and demons as as the backdrop. See it.
