Wine, Spirits: What Qualities to Look For in Rare Whiskey

Created by restaurateur and whiskey aficionado Pablo Moix, Rare Character Whiskey Co. was created out of Moix's love for collecting and producing rare and distinctive whiskies. The limited-edition SAHARA Las Vegas high-rye bourbon barrel is available at Chickie's & Pete's Crabhouse and Sports Bar, CASBAR Lounge and The Tangier while supplies last.

"Distilled and aged in Bardstown, Kentucky, the Bourbon capital of the world, this is a rye whiskey at 82 proof aged for 5 years and 10 months," said Nate Hedlund, director of beverage, SAHARA Las Vegas. "You get the typical spicy notes from the rye, complimented with bright orange zest and floral flavors of coriander and jasmine."
