Beltway Insider: Trump/ICE Raids, 9/11 Fund, Acosta Out, Jeffrey Epstein, Facebook Fined, 2020: Biden Leads All Polls

President Trump refused to be deterred as his plan for the legal deportation of illegal aliens has become a wait and see with the White House ordering Immigration and Custom Enforcement to perform large scale raids.

According to Gallup, President Trump's job approval rating, which was tracked for the two week time period of July 3 -16, 2019, decreased two percentage points to 41% of those polled who approve of his effectiveness as President and those who disapprove of his effectiveness as President remained consistent at 55%. A slight 3% of the population polled have no opinion. Ratings are calculated bi-monthly.

The Immigration and Custom Enforcement Raids

President Trump indicated sanctuary cities, including New York, Los Angeles and Miami would see large scale ICE raids beginning early Sunday morning rounding up illegal aliens and process them for deportation and repatriation to their home countries.

Although it was reported New Yorkers were carrying their passports all day to prove citizenship on the off chance a dragnet situation materialized, from all accounts, the ICE raids effected a very small percentage of the expected hundreds of thousands undocumented individuals.

Even as many protested what they expected to become a major clash between ICE agents and citizens, ended being nothing unusual.

The results which were not at all near the numbers President Trump expected will surely bring his wrath and greater pressure on ICE agents to fulfill their duties under the law.

September 11 Compensation Fund Bill on Senate Floor

The House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved a renewed 9/11 Compensation Fund which would extend benefits to first responders and all claims to the year 2090 and has sent the bill to the senate where Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, (R-SC) has indicated he will call a vote.

Comedian Jon Stewart, who has championed the plight of the many first responders who survived that day, only to be felled in astounding numbers by life threatening diseases and cancers, and face long, painful and debilitating treatments in hopes of living, recently passionately pleaded to members of congress.

"The first responders who rushed into danger on September 11th, 2001 are the very definition of American heroes and patriots," McConnell said Friday. "The Senate has never forgotten the Victim Compensation Fund and we aren't about to start now. Nothing about our shared goal to provide for these heroes is remotely partisan. We will consider this important legislation soon," Fox News Reported.

Many, even some house members, were barely alive when terrorists highjacked four planes and flew two planes fully loaded with fuel into the Twin Towers in lower Manhattan. A third plane was driven into the Pentagon in Washington, DC, and the fourth it is believed was headed for the White House, when the passengers, all of whom understood the probability of death, decided staged a counterattack to regain the plane.

The fourth plane, United Flight 92, crashed into Shanksville, PA. Nearly 3000 citizens, the majority American, were killed and more than 6,000 injured.

Even as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) told business owners and residents the air quality around the smoldering site was without contamination for weeks, months even, every so often, a smell would make its way into the air ducts in the buildings surrounding the mountains of debris and a physical revulsion would be overwhelming as the smell of burnt human remains, a crematorium, would seep into the air.

Acosta Out

The current Jeffrey Epstein unfolding legal drama as caused scrutiny on the former conviction, which was reduced in a controversial plea deal, allowing the billionaire to escape a potential lengthy prison term was negotiated by President Trumps former Labor Secretary Alex Acosta during his tenure as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida.

"Acosta has variously stated that he was not directly involved in the unusual agreement, that prosecutors determined it to be the best available solution, and that he "was unduly pressured by Epstein's heavy-hitting lawyers." He also has argued the prosecution team believed conviction by trial in federal court was unlikely and an agreement would therefore be the best way to put an end to Epstein's exploitation of underage girls," Alex Acosta's Wikipedia page states.

The resignation of Acosta continues to emphasis the revolving door tenure of President Trump's administration.

Jeffrey Epstein, Hedge Fund Financier and Registered Sex Offender, Arrested

Say goodbye to the 1980's, the days of Wall Street finance houses and law firm's drunken orgies, wild company parties, the seat of Manhattan's power structure, living large and loving it.

Where settlement negotiations deteriorated into a lurid expose on breast augmentation replete with the best dressed of legal teams suddenly compelled to test out the breast implants for all to see, stories of men and women suddenly testing the levels of authenticity, filtered through the decades.

Finance Houses were no better with gauntlets of portfolio directors forcing women to run through the line while enduring humiliating spanking and grabbing of body parts. And of course, the promises of raises and vacations written on napkins discreetly passed to secretary's already sitting on the laps of partners.

Enter the 2000's, nearly the second decade of the 21st century and the wild days are further in the rear view than many would hope, and clearly not as tolerated and no more judicial buy's negating bad and criminal behavior.

Today, billionaire sex offenders are (gasp) facing real jail time, and zealous district attorneys are opening money-sealed court documents and allowing the rich and powerful that stuck by the most deplorable of society to feel the sting.

Enter Jeffrey Epstein, 66, a billionaire Hedge Fund Financier, original Bear Sterns man, Epstein made a ton of cash during the heyday of no holds barred investing. He owns several homes, including a $77million dollar townhouse on Manhattan Upper East Side, a Palm Beach home, not far from President Donald Trump's, Mar-a-Lago, and a ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Of course, with all this comes the accessories of the lifestyle, enviable art collections, a private jet and many of the world's most wealthy as friends.

For Epstein whose sexual predilections are more infamous then he would prefer, has already spent time in jail, having pled guilty under a plea deal that had him plead guilty to a lesser state charge of soliciting and procuring a person under age 18 for prostitution. He was jailed for 13 months, mandated to reach financial settlements with dozens of his once-teenage victims and register as a sex offender.

Jeffrey Epstein, who for decades has been investigated for allegedly running an underage sex slave network described by prosecutor U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman, as a "vast network" where the females, as young as 14, were recruited by a senior member of the billionaire's team, and after traditional sexual manipulation and grooming techniques were forced into sex slavery.

The names of the world's elite, HRH Prince Andrew of Great Britain, Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, First amendment lawyer and Harvard Professor Alan Dershowitz, and of course lesser recognized names although all prominent, powerful, wealthy and leaders in their respective vocations.

For more than a decade Epstein's continued pedophile crimes were allegedly ignored by the global finance groupies who either appreciated his finance knowledge, knack for making money, or like many simply like the trappings big money brings, the best of the best.

World News: The impossible Equation in the Search for Enough

"Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who was among those underage girls recruited by Epstein and his partner, Ghislaine Maxwell, has said that she was trafficked for sex to "academics and world leaders.'' She has named Prince Andrew and Harvard lawyer Alan Dershowitz, as among those Epstein directed her to have sex with. Both have denied her allegation. Dershowitz was one of Epstein's attorneys during his criminal investigation in 2006-2008," the Miami Herald reported.

Former President Bill Clinton released a statement earlier this week stating he "knows nothing" about the "terrible crimes" linked to Jeffrey Epstein, Fox News Reported.

Epstein was arrested Sunday, without issue at Teterboro Airport, in New jersey after his private jet touched down from France. During his Monday hearing, Epstein, who was recently indicted who was forced to surrender his passport, and put his $77million dollar Manhattan mansion as collateral for his bail bond

"We think he's a significant flight risk, citing Epstein's "enormous wealth" that includes two planes in addition to the financier spending "much of the year" living abroad as to why prosecutors will ask that he remain jailed, pending trial. A federal judge ordered Epstein to remain behind bars until a bail hearing, which was moved to Monday, July 15. Prosecutors claimed Epstein has posed "extraordinary" risk as a man of "nearly infinite means" with "every motivation in the world to flee," and having the means to do so," Fox news reported.

Prosecutors have released information on thousands of nude photos of underage females recovered form Epstein's mansion. They have also reached out to the community hoping that other victims may step forward. After the arrest, others have stepped forward. It is expected that Epstein raped up to dozen and even hundreds of girls in the three-year time period alleged in the indictment.

Facebook Fined

Facebook, the behemoth social media platform, who has enjoyed a rather cozy association with politicians and business leaders took a hit on Friday, when the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) imposed a fine of $5billion.

Dan Goldstein, a former attorney, engaged in digital marketing, balances the marketing side with the legal side when it comes to protection for both companies and their consumers. He provided three quotes for use.

Facebook ultimately predicted its own future about 3 months ago when it suggested the FTC settlement would cost about $5 billion. The question now is if the company can change its future to overcome its terrible reputation when it comes to user privacy," Goldstein says.

"It's unfortunate that online security and privacy have become a party-line issue. The FTC regulators had an opportunity to make a real statement on acceptable corporate conduct, but the reports of political infighting cheapen that message," Goldstein says.

"The real "teeth" of this announcement will come not from the $5 billion settlement. Facebook is worth hundreds of billions of dollars, so this amount is practically a drop in the bucket. I am more curious about the regulations expected to accompany the terms of the settlement," Goldstein says.

Election 2020: New Poll Shows Biden with a Comfortable National Lead

Former Vice-President Joe Biden has continued to hold a considerable lead over his nearest challengers and further distancing himself from the pack of democratic presidential hopefuls as the American people continue to believe he is the candidate most likely to unseat President Donald Trump.

With Biden at a comfortable 35% among South Carolina voters, Sanders remains second with 14% and California Senator Kamala Harris at 12%. Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren is in fourth with 5%.

National Polls today announced on Sunday Morning Political talk shows, indicate Biden retaining his lead, albeit less at 26%, Elizabeth Warren at 19%, Bernie Sanders and Kamala Harris, tied in third place each with 13% and Pete Buttigieg in fourth place with 7%.

South Carolina is the fourth state in the 2020 Democratic Presidential Primary following the Iowa Caucus, February 3, 2020, New Hampshire February 11, 2020, and Nevada on February 22, 2020.

Op/Ed: Money Can’t Buy You Health

After the recent brouhaha Biden faced during the first televised debate, the public didn't flee the former Vice President's team migrating the Senator Harris' camp as we can all believe was her plan. The issue of segregation, and I'm sure we haven't seen the last of this divisive topic, especially as we get closer to the Democratic Primaries.

Bernie Sanders will be marking the anniversary of the passage of Medicare into law, with a major address on Wednesday at George Washington University on Medicare for All. The event on July 17, at GW University is closed to the general public and admission is by invitation only.
