Eight Dead, including Six Children, in Texas Home Invasion Mass Murder

Six children and two adults have been found shot to death, execution style, inside a Harris County, Texas home after a twelve hour standoff that ended after hostage negotiators talked the suspect into surrendering.

Details are still sketchy, as limited information and access to the bloodbath has been restricted to Homicide detectives only.

The victims have not been identified nor the relationship to each other. Detectives indicated they are attempting to determine who lived in the home and who did not.

Police were called to the scene after neighbors reported shots fired shortly after 9:00pm, Saturday. The situation quickly escalated as responding officers assessed the threat and unable to neutralize called the High Risk Operations team who determined a hostage situation was in play.

Officers formed a perimeter and attempted to position themselves to maximize visibility into the darkened home.

A body of a child was seen, through a window, which intensified and changed the strategy. Officers called in hostage negotiators who managed to keep the suspect occupied as tactical teams surrounded the home and entered the residence through a rear door.

Police exchanged gunfire and wounded the suspect. He was removed from the home. The suspect has not been identified. It was discovered he had an outstanding warrant for assault on a family member. His relationship to the victims is also unknown.

The carnage was discovered upon entry. The rampage was the second mass home invasion murder in Harris County, Texas.

One year ago the Stay Family had been taken hostage by a relative and all six, including four children and their parents had been killed by a relative.
