Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden Names Kamala Harris VP Choice

Democratic Presidential nominee Joseph R Biden, Jr., has named California Senator Kamala Harris as his Vice-Presidential choice and running mate for the 2020 Election, breaking the much-anticipated news in a text message to his supporters.

"I have the great honor to announce that I've picked @KamalaHarris — a fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country's finest public servants — as my running mate." @JoeBiden, the message read.

"Former President Obama on Tuesday commended Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) after Joe Biden selected her to be his running mate, saying the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee has an "ideal partner" to tackle the "real challenges America faces right now and in the years ahead. Choosing a vice president is the first important decision a president makes," Obama said in a statement. "Joe Biden nailed this decision," The Hill reported.

Biden, who had delayed the announcement for two weeks, committed to a ticket that included a female, and vetted many solid candidates. Harris had always been considered a strong choice.

Harris, who launched her own presidential campaign in January 2019, is remembered for her scathing attack on Biden as the cause of her emotional scarring as a child for having to endure busing. She abruptly ended her campaign unable to secure financial support and meet the benchmarks set by the Democratic National Committee.

Ms. Harris, as qualified, educated and dedicated a public servant that she is, she faced intense media scrutiny during her bid for the ticket during the 2019 campaign when her past relationships were questioned by media as quid pro quo.

Her career trajectory, which was exposed during her presidential bid, will bring a media firestorm of deep investigations revealing what many have said is a questionable career rise.

Her relationship with former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, who was also married at the time, and the San Francisco Assembly Speaker appointed Harris to two political state boards, Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board and later the California Medical Assistance Commission.

Ms. Harris has been a champion for California, and even as the Vice-Presidential position is seen as the ultimate company man, it brings her one step closer to attaining her goal. She is capable, and has been lauded as the "obvious" choice by former Presidential Barack Obama.

Herd mentality, like herd spread, will usher in scathing attacks on Ms. Harris and every choice of her life, it will cause new discussion on race, and the race war within the race, topics that were once taboo by Caucasian writers and media as it would border on racism and sexualizing oneself for career gains.

America is deeply polarized. Without question or doubt the Democrats will win the popular vote. As we have seen in repeated elections, the popular vote does not secure the presidency.
