Former Presidents, World Leaders, Pay Tribute To George H.W. Bush

As the news that former President George H.W. Bush had passed away, a steady stream of accolades praising the leader as a humble, dedicated, public service, who remained faithfully dedicated to his family, his wife and the life they built.

President Donald Trump released this statement on the passing of former President George H.W. Bush, "Through his essential authenticity, disarming wit, and unwavering commitment to faith, family, and country, President Bush inspired generations of his fellow Americans to public service—to be, in his words, "a thousand points of light" illuminating the greatness, hope, and opportunity of America to the world. With sound judgement, common sense, and unflappable leadership, President Bush guided our Nation, and the world, to a peaceful and victorious conclusion of the Cold War.  As President, he set the stage for the decades of prosperity that have followed.  And through all that he accomplished, he remained humble."

Vice President Mike Pence released this statement, "Karen and I were saddened to learn of the passing of President George H.W. Bush and we send our deepest sympathies to the entire Bush family. President Bush loved his family, loved this country and his legacy will be a lifetime of service to the United States of America."

Former President Barack Obama Tweeted, "America has lost a patriot and humble servant in George Herbert Walker Bush. While our hearts are heavy today, they are also filled with gratitude. Our thoughts are with the entire Bush family tonight – and all who were inspired by George and Barbara's example."

Former President George W. Bush released this statement, via twitter, on the passing of his father, "Jeb, Neil, Marvin, Doro and I are saddened to announce that after 94 remarkable years, our dear Dad has died. George H.W. Bush was a man of the highest character and the best a son or daughter could ask for. The entire Bush family is deeply grateful for 41's life and love, for the compassion of those who have cared and prayed for Dad, and for the condolences of our friends and fellow citizens."

Former President Bill Clinton released a statement, "I will be forever grateful for the friendship we formed. Few Americans have been—or will ever be—able to match President Bush's record of service to the United States and the joy he took every day from it; from his military service in World War II, to his work in Congress, the United Nations, China, the Central Intelligence Agency, the Vice Presidency and the Presidency, where he worked to move the post-Cold War world toward greater unity, peace, and freedom. 

Former President Jimmy Carter released this statement, "Rosalynn and I are deeply saddened by the death of former President George H.W. Bush," Carter said.  His administration was marked by grace, civility, and social conscience. Through his Points of Light initiative and other projects, he espoused a uniquely American volunteer spirit, fostering bipartisan support for citizen service and inspiring millions to embrace community volunteerism as a cherished responsibility. We again extend our heartfelt condolences to the Bush family."

Queen Elizabeth II released this  statement  to the President of the United States and The People of America: "It was with sadness that I learned of the death of President George H W Bush last night.
President Bush was a great friend and ally of the United Kingdom. He was also a patriot, serving his country with honour and distinction in Office and during the Second World War.
Prince Philip and I remember our days in Texas in 1991 with great fondness.
My thoughts and prayers are with President Bush’s family and the American people."

President Trump has designated Wednesday, December 5, 2018 a day of National Mourning. The New York Stock exchange has released a statement the markets will be closed. All federal buildings, postal facilities, and financial institutions will be closed.
