Hosting the mid-morning event, the creative team for the 89th Governors Ball are Master Chef Wolfgang Puck, Event Producer Cheryl Cecchetto of Sequoia Productions, Academy Governor Jeffrey Kurland each bringing the expertise to the luxurious evening.

Creating a fresh design each year the team from Sequoia Productions, joins with costume designer Jeffrey Kurland to toss around ideas befitting the evening’s most magical evening.

This year the vendors selected to provide aspects of the enchanted post OSCAR ceremony include six-time Academy Award winner Francis Ford Coppola, who will provide two special Director’s Cut wines from his own Russian River vineyard and be pouring about 5000 glasses of delicious Chardonnay and Reds.

“What seems logical to me is that if anyone’s going to provide wine to the academy it out to be the Coppola family. We were one of the earliest of the film people to get into the wine business; we have the most established, broad based wine business of any film celebrity and, as a family, I imagine we have won as many nominations and wins as any. Those are only statistics-by-memory but the most important fact is that in our hearts we love the motion picture tradition as exemplified by the academy as well as the winemaking tradition,“ said the famed director Francis Ford Coppola.

Along with the famed Coppola wines, director and producer Brett Ratner will be providing the award winning Hillhaven Lodge whiskey, a unique behind of three separate whiskeys from three different decades.

Following the awards show, attendees at the Governors Ball after-party will enjoy The Hillhaven Lodge Old Fashioned, a classic cocktail for the timeless evening. For the contemporary whisky enthusiast, The Road Less Traveled, features a mix of Bourbon Vanilla Chai Tea Burdock, and Dandelion Soda starring The Hillhaven Lodge. The Lodge is a one of a kind serve with The Hilhaven Lodge flash infused in a Japanese drip tower and then continued with Sweet Vermouth, Sherry, and Chocolate Bitters for a show stopping pour.

Mark’s Garden returns to provide the signature floral centerpieces complimenting the breath-taking and dramatic designs created by Sequoia Productions.

Cheryl Cecchetto, a name synonymous with producing the elite events has once again outdone herself. The theme “Magical Transformation” which radiates in each detail.

The Ray Dolby Ballroom foyer is marked by a bold, vibrant, stunning red lounge where guest will be served the official champagne from Piper-Heidsieck, a delicious chardonnay from The Director’s Cut or classic cocktails from Hillhaven along with tray passed light hors d’oeuvres.

The foyer, deep red and stunning, gives way to breath-taking white, silver clouds and gold clouds, with white table setting. Roses, deep, lush red roses will adorn the tables. A grand mini staircase will lead to the elevated stage for the evening’s entertainment.

Wolfgang Puck, in his 28th consecutive appearance as Master Chef for the Governors Ball, will handle the culinary creations for the evening.
