Indiana Police Intensifies Search in Delphi Double Homicide

In a recent press conference Indiana State Police, released a new sketch of a key person of interest they believe may be responsible for the murders of Libby German and Abby Williams on February 13, 2017.

The new sketch shows a much younger person, with Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter stating at an April 22, 2019 press conference, "he is younger than they had initially suspected, likely between 18-40, and is believed to be very familiar with the Delphi area." Carter also said, "We believe you are hiding in plain sight."

Double Homicide Suspect Caught on Camera; Manhunt Widens

Pictures released that were taken by Libby German show a stocky Caucasian man with short wavy lite brown hair. From the photo with the hoodie down, he looks younger even as the photo is fuzzy. His attire was non-descriptive and from a released photo of the person of interest critical information had been known.

February 13, 2017 was just another day in Deer Creek County Indiana. For early February it was unseasonably warm, a brief glimpse of the coming spring and perfect weather for an afternoon hike in the Delphi Historic Trails.

Libby German and Abby Williams, besties for most of their lives, were out of school that day. Kelsi German, Libby's older sister dropped the girls off at trailhead at 1:45 P.M. with instructions to be back at 5:30 P.M. They never showed and were reported missing immediately.

The bodies of the two friends were found the next day, Valentine's Day, February 14, 2017, about a half a mile from the railroad tracks were the last pictures of Abby were taken.

Audio and video taken by Libby have been released. The killer ordered them "down the hill." Police have additional information that they will not release.

The ISP also explained "it is all about power for you." Power, the ability to dominate to exhibit the ultimate power is to have someone beg for their life. Power and control could equate to powerlessness, weakness, the inability to say no in his own life. Conflicted by his choices he may retaliate, through dominating violence, menacing, behaviors against the powerless.

Police have said the suspect may be living close by, even in the same town and everyone who walks into any store, any pizza place, who meets just the basic released information is a suspect.
