Beltway Insider: Trump/Impeachment, Berlin Wall, Mexican Massacre, Election 2020: Bloomberg, Biden, Obama

President Trump Counters Impeachment Hearings with Economic Numbers

President Trump spoke with media three different times over the past week, replying on a variety of issues from the upcoming public impeachment hearings to china to his chances for re-election and speaker of the house Nancy Pelosi.

As the glare of impeachment hearing takes over the media questioning Trump was also asked about his reelection chances. He replied, "We've got the best markets we've ever had — stock markets.  We have the best unemployment numbers we've ever had.  We have the best employment numbers we've ever had.  We have almost 160 million people — we've never been even close to that.  So, we're doing it — but unfortunately, you people don't want to talk about that."

The president also spoke on other key issues.

Speaking on the Whistleblower he said: "Well, the whistleblower gave a very inaccurate report.  And, as you know, certain of the media released information about a man that they said was the whistleblower; I don't know if that's true or not. But what they said is he's an Obama person.  It was involved with Brennan; Susan Rice, which means Obama.  But he was like a big — a big anti-Trump person.  Hated Trump.  And they — they said terrible things."

On the Identity of the Second Whistleblower: "Why did Impeachment Chairman [Adam] Schiff (D-CA) make a lie when he said about what I said on the phone call?  And why didn't the Lieutenant Colonel say that he wrote a letter to the White House with certain little comments about the phone call? And all of those many people that listened to the phone call, why didn't they have a problem with it?  Because they didn't have — many people listen to calls between — I know that.  For instance, the Secretary of State Pompeo was on the call."

On How Confident on the Chances of Reelection: "Very confident.  Our poll numbers are great.  We're doing very well in the polls.  And, by the way, not that it's very important because you got elected and you got elected, but the impeachment polls have been very, very strong — and especially in the swing states, I think you see that.  The swing states — they don't want to hear about it.  And we have polls — people don't want to hear about impeachment."

On Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, "I think Nancy Pelosi has lost her mind.  And I think, frankly, that she should go back home to San Francisco.  If you look at what's happening to her district — her district is going to hell, with homeless, with — that they're not taking care of; with needles all over the street;  with tents; with people; with sanitation; with horrible things being washed into the ocean, into the Pacific Ocean.  I think Nancy Pelosi — her district has probably gone down more than any district, proportionately, in the United States."

Berlin Wall Torn Down Thirty Years Ago

On November 9, 1989, Americans and the world watched as growing unrest centered on the ideological and physical barrier that had separated the German nation for twenty-seven years was erupting and rumors of the wall coming down were circulating with news agencies whispering the unbelievable possibility that the Berlin Wall erected in 1962 was actually coming down.

"On this day in 1989, courageous men and women from both East and West Germany united to tear down a wall that stood as a symbol of oppression and failed socialism for more than a quarter of a century.  The eyes of the world watched as a generation of East Germans reclaimed their God-given liberties with each successive swing of their hammers.  Today, we remember those who perished at the hands of totalitarian regimes, and we recommit to ensuring a freer and more just future," President Trump said.

Communism, the Iron Curtain, a belief in totalitarian rule, a dictator, ushered in the construction of the wall in the 1962. It was during the time in history referred to as The Cold War. World War II was over and while there was no longer a "hot" active war, the shift from weapons to spying, which allowed the United States and other nations to actively spy on other nations.

The rumblings began as Easterners, those imprisoned on the Eastern Bloc, the communist side of Germany, were defecting in large numbers through neighboring nations. As a sort of European Fall ushered in a domino style effect as neighboring nations removed barriers from their borders. This allowed East Germans, who would travel, to defect. Soon massive protests, unseen by the West, were pushing the government into action.

East Berliners swarmed the Wall demanding the gates be opened. Soon Westerners were on the other side welcoming those who made it across to freedom. Suddenly the day, long thought to be impossible, a reunification of a free Germany, arrived. The nations people, young and old, celebrated. Soon everyone from children to media to elderly and infirmed were chipping away taking a piece of the Wall with them, the last symbol of oppression crushed.

Mexican Massacre: Mother, Eight-Month-Old Twins, Six Others, Murdered in Cartel Ambush

Nine American citizens, including three women and six children, were ambushed and murdered, by suspected warring drug cartels, their vehicles riddled with bullets and torched, while they were traveling in the Mexican state of Sonora, which borders the U.S.

Eight children survived the attack, the oldest a 14-year-old boy, after hiding his bleeding siblings in the brush, covering them with leaves and plants, walked 14 miles or six hours, to find help. After returning, a nine-year-old sister had left to find her brother and after a two-hour search was reunited with her surviving family members.

From what can be pieced together, the group of fourteen, three women, and eleven children ranging from 14 years old to babies, two eight month old twins and a seven month old, members of a local LeBaron Family compound, where traveling, in three separate SUV's, in the northern region of Sonora, when one of the vehicles had a flat tire.

"Many of the nine women and children killed on a remote stretch of highway in northern Mexico Monday were shot at point-blank range , victims of a targeted assassination that Mexican authorities refuse to allow their American counterparts to investigate, according to high-ranking Mexican and US law enforcement sources. '"They were taken out of their cars and shot. It's kind of disturbing that the FBI has had no access to the crime scene, which is probably a disaster already because the Mexicans have allowed families to remove the bodies. Any evidence that could have been gathered is probably destroyed,"' the New York Post reported.

As the funerals have begun, the answers mean essentially nothing. The families, who have lived in Mexico for some time. The surviving children were airlifted to Arizona for treatment and expected to survive the physical wounds.

Warring Drug Cartels Responsible for Mormon Massacre

Drug Cartel turf wars have destabilized the region and warring cartels. A breakaway group from El Chapo Guzman's Sinaloa Cartel the La Linea Cartel a rival gang based in Juarez, Mexico drug cartel, is allegedly taking responsibility for the massacre. A cartel member has been arrested.

While first believed to be a case of mistaken identity LeBaron Family members have spoken openly about increasing threats and safety issues and concerns. They have also told multiple media the drug cartels have taken too many of our family members.

The murders of the joint U.S./Mexican citizens have prompted widespread condemnation from U.S. officials and President Donald Trump who aid to the Mexican government in the fight against the warring drug cartels.

American Deterrence Restored: Israel Praises the Baghdadi Killing

No word from either government if they intend to develop a similar strategy in the fight against the Drug Cartels as they have recently employed against the Islamic State. As those killed were American citizens, regardless of the religion they practice, the drug cartels, who once held an non-spoken code of not killing women, or children, Americans or innocent bystanders, should be given a similar ending with the United States dropping drone bombs on each of the three cartel headquarters of those involved.

Mexican Police Officer who Arrests Son of El Chapo Guzman Murdered

Eduardo N., the Mexican police officer who played a role in the October captured and arrest of Ovidio Guzman Lopez, the son of convicted Sinaloa Cartel kingpin, Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, has been assassinated while off duty in a shopping center parking lot.

Mexican authorities have little evidence and have refused to release additional information except to say, the officer's vehicle was hit with more than 150 rounds. He died on the scene.

Police have said on numerous occasions the cartels are overrunning everything, including their operations. Police wear face masks, in an effort to retain their anonymity for protection against the regular death threats that police face daily.

As cartels continue to act with disregard and indifference to the law, the response from military, police, and governments, will have to increase to become the much needed reaction and subdue the militias, mercenaries, guerrillas, anarchists, whose inner cartel civil war are spilling the blood of innocent American citizens into the streets.

Election 2020: Bloomberg, Biden, Obama

The 2020 Democratic Presidential hopefuls are adding one more name to the mix, that's right adding. Billionaire Media mogul and former New York City mayor Mike Bloomberg has beat the deadline for adding his name to the upcoming primaries formally announcing his intent to seek, or at least an execute an exploratory challenge, the Democratic nomination for President.

No stranger to the public eye, Bloomberg held the New York city mayor's office for 12 years, once as a Republican, and Independent and a Democratic, and won handily each time. Active during the 2016 President Race he publicly denounced fellow New York City Businessman Donald J. Trump, condemning the candidate as unfit to serve.

Bloomberg addressed the Democratic National convention with a well-received speech. Independently wealthy, with unlimited disposable income available to self-fund his campaign, as well as access to his own media network, he can essentially out spend the candidates from the beginning. Although he would still be subject to the criteria of the DNC, meeting the thresholds should be chose to participate in any of the remaining debates, which would mean jumping into the fray and onto the debate stage in December or using his own media network to run an informercial on his merit.

With former Vice President Joe Biden, the apparent 2020 frontrunner the question of a potential Vice-President has been trendy with his former boss, President Barack Obama, as a possibly contender for the position.

To clarify, the answer is better left to Constitutional Scholars, jurists and others who are, yes, of a better legal mind than most, this author included.

The Washington Post, also sought to find an answer and here in part is the response, "I asked him where a challenge would arise to a Biden-Obama candidacy, and his response was that it would come up at the Electoral College -- or once Congress was asked to certify the already-voted-upon results. There's a completely valid argument to be made that the country would never elect Barack Obama as vice president, of course, in part because is seems to violate the spirit of the 22nd amendment. But if we did, it wouldn't actually become a constitutional question until after Election Day. Remember: We don't elect the president and vice president; the Electoral College does."

As of this printing, Biden averages a 7.7% lead over his nearest challenger, former Senator Elizabeth Warren, who remains in second place, with Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in third place.

The most surprising surge is that of Senator Amy Klobuchar, (D-MN) who has moved into the top five and has also reached the threshold for the December 2019 debates. Hawaii Representative Tulsi Gabbard also surprised with meeting the threshold for the upcoming November debates.

US Representative Ayanna Pressley, a rising progressive star and the first black woman to represent Massachusetts in Congress, announced Wednesday she is endorsing Senator Elizabeth Warren for president.
