President Trump's MAGA platform was without question rejected by a nation of voters, who rose, in unison, in a great democratic wave, talking back the direction of the nation, and chastising elected officials for egregiously failing their constituents.
The President's job approval rating, according to The New York Times for the period ending November 7, 2026, of those polled who approve of his effectiveness as President has remained consistent at 37% and those who disapprove of his effectiveness has remained consistent at 60%. A slight 3% of the population polled have no opinion. Ratings are calculated weekly.

The 2026 Midterm Surprise
The MAGA platform, and those republicans that embraced it's tenants, was without question rejected by a nation of voters who were finally able to break the cult like mind-control tactics of the Republican party and chastise government officials for their lack of concern for the constituents who elected them.
This experiment in democracy, a government by the people, and for the people, that has teetered on the brink of destruction, was reinforced as Americans spoke, unanimously, across the country rebuking the policies of current Administration and investing in new leadership. The burden now rests on the democrats, with Tuesday's historic sweep, the people will expect change, and the democrats will need to work for the people.
Ideas of an immediate impeachment process have been touted, and while the administration acted without restraint, does the charge of impeachment do anything without the two-thirds majority needed in the senate for removal?
If no removal of office is possible, the actions would only result in continued animosity, even if the president were removed, and the impeachment processed followed with the Vice-President Vance, he also would need a two-majority of the senate to be removed. He is the GOP's 2028 hope, so removing him may not be as easy, and keeping him stained with the Trump era policies projects well for the 2028 presidential elections.
What is clear, with democratic control of both the House of Representative and the Senate, padding the pockets of the nation's billionaire to ensure a soft landing and a welcome mat when the gig is up, has ended.

Surprises, Shocks, and Upsets
Even the most accurate predictor models failed to forecast the historic sweeping changes that the world witnessed as a result of Tuesday's Midterm elections. The nation vetoed, not only the direction of the nation, but more importantly those elected officials who dared to follow along on the Trump party bus.
More than simply a rejection of the direction of the nation, the voters rejected the ideals of the current administration, including wealth inequity that allowed many republican tech billionaires to attempt to buy voters by spending vast sums, upwards of $500 million.
"The 2026 US midterm elections are expected to be the most expensive in history, according to the nonpartisan watchdog group OpenSecrets. In the battle for the US Senate, outside groups and independent committees spent at least $2 billion. That was separate from candidates' direct expenditures. Republican-affiliated groups spent roughly 60% more than Democratic-aligned groups — but that did not prevent them from losing at least seven seats," Reuters reported.
Rejection of Domestic Policy
With more than 124 million votes cast on Tuesday, Americans made republicans understand the issues that are most critical are being ignored. The economic impact of the Iran war, including in some locations upwards of $7.00 per gallon for gasoline, and the governments failure to concede and attempt to remedy this issue, forced voters to recognize the leaders are blind to the needs of the people.
With billionaires bankrolling the administration, elected and appointed officials have a laissez-faire approach to fixing broken areas, preferring the hands off approach in both economic policies and more critically in the administrations departments, especially the Department of Defense, where Secretary Hegseth and his team has shown no respect for the gravity of his decision and allowed team members absolute autonomy and complete tasks without oversight, resulting in cascading issues, from the breaking the Eisenhower's globes to the employment of outdated data for drone usage resulting in the bombing of Iranian schoolchildren.
Americans Rejected Middle East Involvement
While Americans recognize the right of any nation to retaliate when the sovereignty of its borders been breached, Americans without questioned rejected the widescale attack on Gaza, which decimated the region, and rejected wholeheartedly the resulting war with Iran, and challenged the entire widening Middle East conflict, as Americans are longer willing to bear the expense of another's nations war.
The president's recent policy shifts in Ukraine, also contributed to the shocking shift in both houses on congress. American's do not want to cozy up to Russian President Vladimir Putin, as he continues to wage war against neighboring Ukraine. Buying oil from Putin and stopping the shipment of Patriot Missiles to Ukraine, and shifting away from The Graham Bill, three weeks before the election appeared like a challenge to the American people, and they certainly reacted.
Trump in a campaign blitz last week, encouraged voters to "vote like he was on the ballot." And they did.

Senate Surprises
Watching the election results Tuesday night, as the Blue Wave continued to roll east to west, the most surprising results were Texas, South Carolina, Mississippi, Kansas, and Alaska.
Of these five, democrats had the most momentum in South Carolina, as the Senator Darline Graham, who was appointed to finish her late brother, Senator Lindsey Graham's term. Her early gaff's in debates, appeared to voters that her heart just wasn't in the race, and on election day, voters chose to support democratic candidate Dr. Annie Andrew's as their next senator, earning 51.4% of the votes.
Kansas
The Midwest, who blindly supported Trump and the policies of the Republican party, decided enough was enough. Rejecting a double minded message, religious in rhetoric, while practicing amoral action and enacting policy that is considered nonreligious, Midwest voters continued the blue wave.
For many throughout the United States, those who subscribed to Christianity are often considered "religious nuts," uneducated, of lower socio-economic status, and prone to making poor choices, based on "God's will." America's Bible belt, the swath of Mid-western states, that include Kansas, Texas, brought Christianity to the forefront in American politics on Tuesday by surprising the world by bringing religion to the front of the campaign.
Kansas Methodist minister Adam Hamilton, 62, who pastors a successful Christian based church in the suburbs of Kansas City, Kansas, took his message of kindness to voters who embraced his beliefs and ideals. He won the Kansas senate seat securing 51% of the votes, flipping the seat that had been held since 1932 by republicans.
Hamilton is already creating a stir by insisting he will not support New York Senator Chuck Schumer for Senator Majority leader.

Texas
Texas voters served up a seismic surprise to the nation. Turning this solid red state, into a blue bellwether electing both a democratic female governor, Gina Hinojosa who denied Governor Greg Abbot an unprecedented fourth term, by winning 52.82 % of the vote.
Not only did Texan voters veto deny Abbott a fourth term, the elected James Talarico, 37, incorporating his Christian faith into his political message. He ran a "Love Thy Neighbor" campaign, and as so many Americans are experiencing financial burdens, his message resonated and the people responded.
Talarico was running against former Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a republican friendly with both President Trump, who campaigned for him labeling him "TalaFREAKo," and Elon Musk, who contributed heavily to attempt to help Paxton win election.
Not only did Talarico win, but he also handily beat Paxton by securing 55.9% of the vote.
Mississippi
Mississippians exemplified why all Americans should exercise their rights and vote. An undeniable deep red state, perhaps the only person who expected that he could win the race for the senate was democratic challenger, Scott Collum, an African-American District Attorney from Columbus Mississippi.
The AP has not yet called the race, however Collum, is leading the Republican incumbent, Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith, by 2,574 votes. When the race is called, and any recounts are litigated, Collum will be the first black senator since the Reconstruction era, 150 years ago, and the only democrat elected in 44 years.
Alaska
Alaskans are still tallying the votes of Tuesday's midterm elections, however at press time, Alaskan democrat Mary Petola, is leading 48.17 % to republican incumbent Dan S. Sullivan, 47.88%. Alaskans use ranked choice voting, and without only 74% of all the ballots cast counted it may be weeks before the results are finalized.

Coronavirus Total
At the order of the President of the United States, the U.S. no longer recognizes the value of The World Health Organization. The CDC has recommended every person from age six months, including senior citizens should receive at least one shot of an updated COVID-19 vaccine, annually. The death toll from Covid-19 has dramatically decreased, as has transmission of the virus. Even as confirmed new cases continue each week, fewer are dying from each new variants.
For the 7 days ending November 7, 2026, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases reported by the World Health Organization increased by 12,966 to 779,541,438. The total worldwide death toll did not increase over the past 7 days has increased by 207 to 7,118,321 deaths. The United States has stopped providing Covid data to the World Health Organization. (Data updated October 18, 2026, from the World Health Organization).

Rejecting Mud-Slinging Campaign Tactics
Ohioans also surprised the nation rejecting the vile campaign tactics of Vivek Ramaswamy, which were supported by Vice-President J.D. Vance, attacked democratic challenger Dr. Amy Acton, a survivor of childhood abuse, creating a political add with her mother, whom she hadn't spoke to since she was 12, who called Acton a liar and urged voters to support Ramaswamy.
"In a Friday interview on "CBS Mornings," Acton said she did not take Ramaswamy's concession phone call because she did not want to "normalize" his behavior. "I think we can't normalize behavior like this. It was so beyond the pale," Acton told CBS News. "So no, I have no intention of speaking to him. I do believe that leaders' words matter, and we need to hold folks accountable," The Hill reported.
Shattering The Glass Ceiling
Traditional political diversity ceilings were also shattered in Tuesday's midterms, and more women where elected to political office than ever before in any election. Georgia governor-elect Keisha Lance Bottoms became the first black female governor in the history of the United States, after fending off billionaire Rick Jackson.
"In New Mexico, Deb Haaland will become the first Native American woman elected governor of any state, and she and Stephanie Garcia Richard will be the first gubernatorial ticket composed entirely of women of color elected to lead a state. In the U.S. Virgin Islands, Stacey Plaskett won in a landslide to become the territory's first woman governor," Ms. Magazine reported.
Breaking the political glass ceiling, with only one office left, voters have resoundingly spoken that no political office is out of reach.

Looking Forward
The 2026 Midterms were a once in a lifetime, historic, upset which did more than send a clear defined message ending the Donald Trump era of political separatism, and proving to every politician that leaders are elected by the will of the people, and should those leaders lose sight of the constituents then voters will elect a new candidate that addresses the concerns of the people.
The 2028 Presidential election has been reshaped with this blue wave. As all candidates must participate in the primary process, the field of potential hopefuls been shaken up. The field of democrats include outgoing California governor Gavin Newsom, although his recent effort to spare all death row prisoners, has some questioning his candidacy, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, who proved his democratic ideals appealed to a ruby red state, and is barred by term limits from running again in 2027, newly elected Minnesota Governor Amy Klobuchar, who spent 24 years in the senate, and newly elected Georgia Governor Keisha Lance Bottoms, the former mayor of Atlanta, also served in the Biden Administration as the White House Office of Public Engagement.
With the voters rejecting the Trump era policies outgoing the Republican field of potential candidates increased with rumors of former Florida Governor Ron DeSantis expected to announce his bid for the 2028 Republican nomination. Other names quickly floating to the surface include Vice-President JD Vance, former Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and twice elected Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who also comes from a political dynasty as her father was former Arkansas Governor Michael Huckabee.
Presidential primaries officially begin January of 2028, with candidates usually announcing their intention to seek the nomination by the summer before the primary season. So, with this historic election over, the next one is right around the corner. Voters can expect a political blitz.
