THE EXPENDABLES 2, an Action Packed Revenge Driven Sequel, from LIONSGATE and Millennium Films

THE EXPENDABLES 2, led by Sylvester Stallone and his team of Expendables, is set to explode into the box office with the action packed revenge driven sequel, from LIONSGATE and Millennium Films.

Written by Stallone and Richard Wenk, THE EXPENDABLES 2 is directed by Simon West and produced by Avi Lerner, Kevin King-Templeton, Danny Lerner and Les Weldon and stars every known action hero Hollywood has created.

Drawn into a fight that isn’t his, Stallone and team, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Scott Adkins, are off to the hot terror spots around the globe. A rag tag crew and questionable methods, The EXPENDABLES are owned by CIA leader, Mr, Church played by Bruce Wills. The team is joined by newcomers, Liam Hemsworth as Billy the Kidd, a sniper with heart and Yu Nan, Maggie, a combat proficient terror specialist. The team encounters

Along the way, the team encounters bad boy Jean Claude Van Damme, what follows is a super charged, fast action thrill ride! With a high body count and moments of blood spurting effects, THE EXPENDABLES 2 truly has audiences invested in the action hero’s attempts to avenge the death of the newest member of their team, liberate villagers from evil tyranny and finally gain their own freedom from CIA rule.

The EXPENABLES 2, Back For War, is filled with bullet riddled action scenes, implied visual violence, and there is plenty of that, tanks, automatic weapons, explosives all the weapons of war including, and with a cast that includes the greatest names in Martial Arts, hand to hand, close quarter fighting highlighted by signature moves.

There’s no nudity, or real gore as it is almost the illusion of the kill. No arch’s of blood splattering, generating the emotions would expect in a true murder scene and that of course, is because the audience is invested in the revenge driven plot. We want Stallone and his band of Expendables to slaughter Van Damme and the bad guys.

Van Damme’s skills are still sharp and yes, even though it is suspended realism and stunt doubles produce the high flying martial arts moves that punctuate the fight scenes still, these guys, Van Damme, Chuck Norris and Jet Li all gained considerable success as Martial Artists before entering the movie making business.

As there is something to say about every film, even the critically terminated films, THE EXPENDABLES 2, may not look like much and yet, it is a great escape with fabulous personality and attitude!  THE EXPENDABLES 2 has an explosive hook in the first scenes, the reintroduction of Arnold the terminator which until the end could have been considered risky and like his more famous movie lines he does come back and has a nice cameo at the end that showcases his skills as an action hero. Willis still has another John McClane sequel in him and the audience to carry it.

A fan of testosterone charged flicks and the men in them; THE EXPENDABLES 2 has it all! Action hook shots, tough guys with vulnerable sides, sensitive men (you got to love them) and champions of truth justice and yes, the American way.

Over shadowed by the death of his only son, Sage, Stallone his team of EXPENDABLES are headed to top the charts with their mega-explosive, high body count mercenary thriller.

As in the first installment, THE EXPENDABLES 2, BACK FOR WAR, is powered by a soundtrack that is filled with great classic rock ‘n roll which is another reason to love it!

THE EXPENDABLES 2, BACK FOR WAR, opens everywhere August 17, 2012!
