Trump Visits UK
President Trump and his entourage were welcomed by King Charles III and Queen Camilla, and heir to the throne William, the Prince of Wales and Catherine, Princess of Wales to a lavish state dinner, complete with pomp, pageantry, and splendor at 160 person state dinner, abounding with dignitaries, captains of industry, heads of states, and honored guests.
Other guests included Apple CEO Tim Cook, British Aerospace Systems CEO Charles Woodburn, Ruth Porat, Chief Investment officer for Alphabet and Google, Rupert Murdoch, founder of News Corp, Christopher Ruddy, chief executive of Newsmax, Sam Altman, chief of OpenAI, Satya Nadella, chief of Microsoft, Stephen Schwarzman, chief of Blackstone, Brian Moynihan, chief executive of Bank of America and others.
Before the visit ended President Trump and British Prime Minister Kier Starmer has signed a "technology partnership agreement signed by Mr. Trump and Mr. Starmer on Thursday, which they said would help the United States and Britain lead the world on artificial intelligence and other high-tech innovations," The New York Times reported.
Partners Align for General Assembly
President Trump and Prime Minister Kier Starmer meet for two hours, in private, as the heads of state prepare for the upcoming General Assembly gathering of the United Nations in New York City, which considering the flashpoints around the world, could prove to be challenging.
"The prime minister had hoped to cajole Mr. Trump into a more aggressive approach toward President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia on the war in Ukraine, and he said that the two leaders had spent "the best part of an hour" speaking in private about world affairs on Thursday," The New York Times reported.
With the many nations in attendance, and the crush of heads of states to secure bi-laterals, side-bars or tri-laterals with the President or Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the meeting with Starmer, will allow the two nations, who share a long history of unity, to move into the General Assembly aligned in thought and understanding.
The issue of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his aggressive determination in the Ukraine. The recent overshot of drones into Polish air space, which resulted in NATO scrambling the jets, a first for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, as nerves are jittery on the continent, as Putin, like Trump, can be unpredictable.
While transcripts of the private meeting have not been released the other obvious topic would be the war in Gaza, and again, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is also unpredictable and determined, targeted journalists in Houthi backed Yemen, this week, killing 31 journalists, civilians and children.
The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has reached beyond a well-proportioned response to the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel and forcing those who have managed to stay alive through the last two years, to now die of starvation has caused the global opinion to shift.
Netanyahu, who attended the 2024 General Assembly, may also attend this year. With the French President Emmanuel Macron previously stating he would introduce a two-state resolution at this general assembly, it is possible Netanyahu will address the assembly and attempt to explain his continual effort to eradicate the Palestinian people.
Even through the International Criminal Court has issued a warrant for Netayahu's arrest, he is free to travel to the New York City for the General Assembly meeting, as the U.S. is not a member of the ICC and therefore is not obligated to enforce the warrant.
The United Nations General Assembly's 80th session has already convened. The most prominent and widely reported events are scheduled from September 23 to 29, 2025.

Charlie Kirk Shooter Charged
Tyler Robinson, 22, was formally charged this week for the assassination of Charlie Kirk, 31, a right-wing MAGA Republican leader and founder of Turning Point USA, an ultra-conservative leaning organization, during a rally on the Utah Valley University campus, Wednesday, September 10, 2021.
Robinson, who initially escaped capture, later confessed to several people, including his father, who helped him turn himself into local authorities, more than 100 miles from the scene of the murder.
Kirk, known for his incendiary speech and harsh debate style that incited students on college campus to engage in rhetoric, was debating a student on the shootings committed by gay and trans identify individuals when the shot was fired.
An ensuing 33-hour manhunt followed, as the Salt Lake City FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert Bowles and his team, secured evidence and by sifting through the numerous video feed available where able to release photos of the suspect gunman.
Prosecutors said Robinson had confessed separately to his father and roommate, both of whom responded by asking why he killed Kirk. "I had enough of his hatred," Robinson wrote to his roommate in a text message, according to the court filing. "Some hate can't be negotiated out," The New York Times reported.
Violence does not end arguments, it enflames them.
Luigi Mangione Terrorism Charges Tossed
New York Superior Court Judge Gregory Carro, this week, thew out the Terrorism and First and Second degree murder charges against Luigi Mangione, 27, who is currently awaiting trial in the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
Mangione, who has been in custody for approximately nine months, since he was apprehended in a Altoona, PA McDonalds, after the brazen early morning ambush style attack on Thompson outside a Midtown-west Hilton Hotel.
The Judge indicated the grand jury evidence did not meet the state mandated standards for terrorism or first or second degree murder under terrorism statues. There is no evidence Mangione intended to hold a government hostage and to simply state his action intended to cause fear in the population was too "broad" as Manhattan is a high crime city and unfortunately violent crimes are frequent. A subway murder can cause a greater degree of fear.
"Manhattan district attorney spokeswoman Danielle Filson said in a statement that the office respected the court's decision and "will proceed on the remaining nine counts, including Murder in the Second Degree." The judge ordered Dec. 1 pretrial hearings related to the admissibility of evidence. No trial date has been set," The Washington Post reported.
Hollywood Week: Jimmy Kimmel Suspended, Scapegoated by Nexstar, First Amendment Freedoms, Obama, Meyers, Colbert, O’Brien
Jimmy Kimmel Suspended
Comedian and late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel became entangled in a continuing uproar over the First Amendment, and his verbal sparring with President Trump and MAGA causes and leadership.
His opening monologue, on Monday, September 15, targeted MAGA's effort to shade Tyler Robinson, the admitted assassin of right-wing conservative Charlie Kirk, as anything other than one of their own.
This caused Nexstar, the owner of many television affiliates who carry the ABC late night show, to pressure Disney Chief Robert A. Iger, to suspend Kimmel indefinitely.
"Brendan Carr, the F.C.C. chairman who warned on Wednesday that Mr. Kimmel's comments were a "very, very serious issue" for Disney, has broken from predecessors by openly criticizing television programs that, in his view, evince a bias against conservatives," The New York Times reported.
This action resulted in an onslaught of public and private citizens protesting, voicing their opinions, taking to social media in support of Kimmel and more importantly, the support of Free Speech. The First Amendment is not simply in place so wayward democrats can deliver punchy monologues to jab the MAGA crowd but so the MAGA crowd, and those like Charlie Kirk, can speak their versions of truth. Removing the First Amendment freedoms for one, removes then for all.

Coronavirus Total
At the order of the President of the United States, the U.S. no longer recognizes the value of The World Health Organization. The CDC has recommended every person from age six months, including senior citizens should receive at least one shot of an updated COVID-19 vaccine, annually. The death toll from Covid-19 has dramatically decreased, as has transmission of the virus. Even as confirmed new cases continue each week, fewer are dying from the newer variants.
For the seven days ending September 21, 2025, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases reported by the World Health Organization increased by 4,457 to 778,572,430. The total worldwide death toll increased by 449 to 7,101,070 deaths. The United States has stopped providing Covid data to the World Health Organization. (Data updated August 31, 2025, from the World Health Organization).

Robert Redford, Actor, Activist, Dies
Robert Redford, an academy award winning actor and director, and best known for the creation of the Sundance Film Festival, and supercharging the economy of Park City, Utah, died this week. He was 89.
Redford, a matinee idol during the 1970's and 80's, whose name is synonymous for film goers according to their individual best of Redford lists, and for this writer include "The Way We Were," (1973) opposite Barbara Streisand, "Out of Africa," (1985) opposite Meryl Streep, "Three Says of the Condor," (1975) opposite Faye Dunaway, "All The President's Men," (1976), opposite Dustin Hoffman, and "Jeremiah Johnson," (1972).
Others have never forgotten that last stand in "Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid" (1969), a film that paired him with Paul Newman, and also forged a lifelong friendship with his co-star, and "The Sting," which brought the pair together again. With a career spanning film and television across six decades, the notion of narrowing his filmography down to five top films is an impossible feat. Other lessor known films include "The Electric Horsman," (1979), opposite Jane Fonda, "Indecent Proposal," (1993) opposite Demi Moore, "Spy Games," (2001) opposite Brad Pitt.
World News: France Takes a Stand on a Two State Solution
Redford, who shunned Hollywood, although he was born and raised in neighboring Santa Monica, in 1936. The death of his mother, in his late teens, seem to derail his direction, as he said, "I'd had religion pushed on me since I was a kid," he later told a biographer, Michael Feeney Callan. "But after Mom died, I felt betrayed by God," The New York Times reported. He then began to classify himself as a juvenile delinquent, living polar opposites, high success earning a baseball scholarship and dropping out after the first year, an award winning artist in high school, he moved to Europe to study art in Paris, and felt aimless even while living his dreams. He finally returned to the United States, somehow more worldly with a keener perspective in which to view the world of art.
His acting career, especially in the 1960's, which was the tail end of the Golden Era of Hollywood, was built on connections, and high school friendships, as he attended the same school with directors kids. He returned to Los Angeles, and met a Mormon, Lola Van Wagenen, still looking for meaning in religion, and married her in 1958. They left Los Angeles and settled in Utah. His marriage produced four children Shauna, Amy, David James, and Scott.
Redford continued to flog himself for the heartaches and despair that plagued him. A son, Scott, died, of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, in 1959, and Redford said many times, he felt he was being punished for his good looks, his success, the good things in life. Later Jamie, preceded Redford in death, dying of cancer in 2020.
Redford found solace in the mountains of Provo, Utah. The stunning majestic scenery allowed even the religion jaded Redford to find some peace, in the midst of his personal struggles. He eventually purchased a parcel of land and built a house, which many would call it living off the grid, and yet being away from the always on stage of Hollywood.
"In 1981, he founded the Sundance Institute, a nonprofit dedicated to cultivating fresh cinematic voices. He took over a struggling film festival in Utah in 1984 and renamed it after the institute a few years later. (He had been a local since 1961, having spent some of his early earnings as an actor on two acres of land in Provo Canyon. He often said he liked Utah because it gave him a sense of peace and was the antithesis of Hollywood superficiality)," The New York Times reported.
From the Sundance Institute, "We are deeply saddened by the loss of our founder and friend Robert Redford. Bob's vision of a space and a platform for independent voices launched a movement that, over four decades later, has inspired generations of artists and redefined cinema in the U.S. and around the world. Beyond his enormous contributions to culture at large, we will miss his generosity, clarity of purpose, curiosity, rebellious spirit, and his love for the creative process. We are humbled to be among the stewards of his remarkable legacy, which will continue to guide the Institute in perpetuity."
Robert Redford died in his sleep, surrounded by those he loved and the place he cherished. He is survived by his wife, German artist, Sibylle Szaggars, and his two daughters, Shauna Redford Schlosser and Amy Redford, and seven grandchildren.
