Biden, Harris Ticket Presents Strong Leadership for Troubled Days

Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden, the former vice-president during the Obama Administration, is facing a near parallel domestic struggle and globally alienating challenges created by the current unqualified and nepotistic leadership that forged alliances for a post presidency power grab.

While many Americans are facing unprecedented financial hardships, Biden has been instrumental in aiding Americans come through the worst economic recession since the Great Depression. Many Americans aren't aware of what The Great Depression actually means, history in America, rarely dissect the realities of the harshness of the decade.

"It began after the stock market crash of October 1929, which sent Wall Street into a panic and wiped out millions of investors. Over the next several years, consumer spending and investment dropped, causing steep declines in industrial output and employment as failing companies laid off workers," wrote The History Channel.

Changing the date and this statement could be confused with the life and times in 2020.

The Democratic Presidential nominee said, "Here and now I give you my word.  If you entrust me with the presidency, I will draw on the best of us, not the worst.  I will be an ally of the light, not the darkness. It's time for us, for we, the people, to come together.  And make no mistake.  United we can and will overcome this season of darkness in America. We'll choose hope over fear.  Facts over fiction.  Fairness over privilege.  I'm a proud Democrat.  And I'll be proud to carry the banner of our party into the general election," NPR Reported

Biden highlighted though his acceptance speech the need for Americans to adjust their thinking, even slightly from a less polarized, red only or blue only, democrat or republican tried and true, to an American who desires to see this nation once again rise from the ashes of this ravaging pandemic that has taken more than lives, this season of culling that has stolen business built over decades, livelihoods and even a way of life.

Each voter plays a role in the comeback of our nation, putting aside partisan politics for the good of the nation, is the only viable solution to returning to a familiar way of life. Biden explained America is facing a perfect storm of challenges, the merging of the controllable and the uncontrollable, the pandemic, an economic fallout, catastrophic climate change and a civil rights movement that is causing the world to finally recognize justice is an inalienable right for all citizen and yes, Black Lives Matter, and all lives matter.

Democratic National Convention Presents Its Case – Speaker Highlights

Former First Lady Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama, said during her speech on night one of the Democratic National Convention, "Going high does not mean putting on a smile and saying nice things when confronted by viciousness and cruelty. Going high means taking the harder path. It means scraping and clawing our way to that mountain top. Going high means standing fierce against hatred while remembering that we are one nation under God, and if we want to survive, we've got to find a way to live together and work together across our differences. And going high means unlocking the shackles of lies and mistrust with the only thing that can truly set us free: the cold hard truth," The Washington Post reported.

Former 2016 Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton

"After the last election, I said, "We owe Donald Trump an open mind and the chance to lead." I really meant it. Every president deserves that. And Trump walked into the Oval Office with so much set up for him: A strong economy. Plans for managing crises—like a pandemic.

Yes, we Democrats would have disagreed with him on many, many things. But if he had put his own interests and ego aside—if he could have seen the humanity in a child ripped from her parents at the border or a protester calling for justice or a family whose home was destroyed by a wildfire who happened to live in a blue state—if he had even tried to govern well and lead us all—he might have proved us wrong.

And that would have been a good thing, for America and the world. America needs a president who shows the same compassion, determination, and leadership in the White House that we see in our communities. Throughout this crisis, Americans have kept going—checking on neighbors, showing up to jobs at grocery stores and nursing homes. Because it still takes a village." (Text by

Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden Names Kamala Harris VP Choice

Former New York City Mayor and Businessman Mike Bloomberg

"Four years ago, I came before this very convention and said New Yorkers know a con when we see one. But tonight, I'm not asking you to vote against Donald Trump because he's a bad guy. I'm urging you to vote against him because he's done a bad job.

Today, unemployment is at historic highs and small businesses are struggling just to survive. It didn't have to be this way. Before I ran for mayor, I spent 20 years running a business I started from scratch. So I want to ask small business owners and their employees one question, and it's a question for everyone. Would you rehire or work for someone who ran your business into the ground? And who always does what's best for him or her, even when it hurts the company? And whose reckless decisions put you in danger and he spends more time tweeting than working?

If the answer is no, why the hell would we ever rehire Donald Trump for another four years?" (Text by

Former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor and 2020 Presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg

"If so much can change between 2010 and 2020, imagine what 2030 could look like. Imagine what we could achieve—the coalition we are building this very season, gathering progressives and moderates, independents and even "former Republicans," to help build a future where everyone belongs.

It starts here—with the choices we are going to make in just a few weeks. Decisions not just about who will lead us, but about who we are.

Joe Biden is right: this is a contest for the soul of the nation. And to me, that contest is not between good Americans and evil Americans. It's the struggle to call out what is good—what is best—in every American." (Text by

The democrats have built a solid case for removal of Donald Trump has president.

The Elephant in the Room

In order for the democrats to secure a win, they must do more than present a solid case. They need to address the elephant in the room, and that is as progressive as Americans claim to be, they are still skittish when it comes to a woman as president.

While hoping we have moved beyond the hormonal arguments of "that time of the month" and other misogynist and sexist comments that imply a female leader will randomly decide to begin a nuclear war as her "feelings" will overwhelm her, the rhetoric that produced these comments are still supported, entertained, joked about, and in some cases used to shame females into submission.

Those ideals should be retired, along with every other sexist, xenophobic, misogynist and plain hateful, spiteful, nasty comment that dismantles female leaders and reduces them to necessitates in the bedroom and kitchen only.

After a week of watching women, and we project "strong" simply due to their online appearance, many who have faced discrimination, injustice and inequalities simply based on gender, this doesn't make them strong, it creates an endurance.

Women, unfortunately, are often passed over in the workplace. Women need to have twice the education, twice the experience, and twice the tenacity of any man to secure the same job for half the pay, and even then, human resource directors fall prey to the attempts to be romanced by potential male employees. Using sex, sexualizing oneself for employment is a two-way street.

Election 2020: Tom Steyer, NYS Dem Chairman, Latinos Decisions, Praise VP Choice

This week the world, not simply undecided Americans, have watched as people from all walks of life and spoke on issues that affect the world. Climate Change, Gun Control, Fairness, and more, equality for all, not because it is the cause of the moment, but equality and justice for all. All of us, each one, everyone.

Unfortunately, the demographic the democrats need to convince is more than only the moderate right conservative, who sees Liberal as a disease, they need to reach deep into red territory and find those who can see past the flashes of demagoguery presented by the president.

Stopping the exploitation of emotions, prejudice, and ignorance to rouse the crowd into some whirlwind of senseless action, a frenzy of mistaken beliefs, the pixie dust effect of golden tomorrows which is embedded deep in the American psyche.

And everyone wants golden tomorrows. Democrats want to build back better, returning America to a time of more than prosperity, of global respectability, of righting the listing ship of democracy.

The Democrats appear to be on the verge of regaining the White House, and a trifecta majority, with majorities in both the House and Senate. For many who will scream liberal democrats, they'll open the floodgates, they'll destroy the foundation of American.

Let simply be realistic: American is 244 years old. We have survived, wars from within and wars from without. We have fought, died, sacrificed for a better way of life. Today we are faced with an enemy we can't see, one that will infect, ravage and kill. No peace accord, magical potion, hopeful thinking or wishing it away will change the intent of the coronavirus. Unless managed by scientific data it will grow in clusters, spreading without discrimination and continue to dismantle the way of life that we all miss and genuinely desire to see roaring back.

Jobless Claims Reach Above 1Million

First time jobless claims again rose above 1 million for the week of August 15, 2020, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics which essentially reflects a consistent weekly rise in first time unemployment claims since March 2020.

"Initial weekly jobless claims totaled more than 1.1 million for the period ending Aug. 15, bringing the total number of claims to 57.4 million -- more than one-third of the U.S. labor force -- since coronavirus-related lockdowns began in March," reported

Coronavirus Totals

The infection rates of the coronavirus have continued to rise around the world. For the week ending August 23, 2020, coronavirus cases increased globally by 1,729,900 confirmed cases, brings the total of confirmed cases worldwide to 23,216,300, with 804,727 deaths, an increase of 33,170.

Infections rates in the United States are also on the rise. For the week ending August 23, 2020 the total confirmed cases rose to 5,681,400 with new confirmed cases rising by 291,660. The coronavirus has claimed 176,248 total deaths, a weekly increase for 6.583 deaths. (Data from The New York Times).

Alexandria Ocasio Cortez Seconds Bernie Sanders Bid for Nomination

Alexandria Ocasio Cortez provided the secondary nomination for progressive Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont. Ocasio-Cortez, who has been called a "superstar" by major media commentators on ABC and others, was allotted a 60 speech to present the opinions of the progressive independent party.

Completing her first two year term and winning a second term against a well-financed, Wall Street backed opponent, should be a clear sign to the thirty-one year old Ocasio-Cortez that her brand of politics, her strong opinions, alienating and costly, anti-establishment decisions, are under fire.

Progressive voters, especially those in the New York City boroughs, without jobs, without the buoyancy of a strong economy, and without affordable housing will only invest hope for change so long before they take matters into their own hands.

Election: The Bernie Sanders Effect

Progressive Democrat Bernie Sanders, if one listened to the Roll Call during the Democratic National Convention, has lost his grip or charm on America politics. Possibly due to the insurmountable odds of electing a socialist style politician or due to his 2016 hard-line attacks on Democratic Candidate Hillary Clinton which many believe played a role in costing her the election.

A form of misogyny, Sanders' stinging and brutal attacks during what was expected to be a unifying political process, left many voters disenfranchised, and the 17 million voters who had been spoon fed his demagoguery of blatant misogynistic statements were die-hard Bernie or no one.

In the end his dream to secure the impossible, the democratic party's nomination under the socialist banner, was and always will be a dream, became the thief that not only aided the act but also became an accessory to the current predicament our nation faces.

Sanders bandwagon jumped on the Democratic hopeful train again this season, and when it became apparent he had little or no chance of winning he bowed out gracefully unlike his abusive and violent rages of 2016 which divided the party, caused disruption, and cost many.

Justice Watch: A Failed System The Victim X Story (Part I)

His followers are a bit tamer this season, all willing to wholeheartedly back a male presidential candidate. As a critic he has few negative comments to direct at Biden. American's will never know the prosperity of what these past four years would have been under the qualified leadership that was denied the opportunity, but one thing is certain the divisive politics, hate rhetoric and harsh attacks are absence from his vernacular as he sings the praises of a male candidate.

Passive aggressive misogyny is still misogyny. Veiled misogyny under the banner of presidential politics is still misogyny. And a coward's attack, much like those of the current administration, is still a coward's attack.
