United Airline Thugs Drag Doctor from Flight (Video)

A doctor urgently needed at his hospital was pulled from a United Flight in Chicago, grabbed, and picked up from his window seat by security, and dragged through the aisle, pulled by his arms, sustaining cuts and bruises in the removal.

United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz issued a sort of apology stating, "I apologize for having to re-accommodate these customers. Our team is moving with a sense of urgency to work with authorities and conduct our own detailed review of what happened. We are also reaching out to this passenger to talk directly to him and further address and resolve this situation."

Passengers on board United Flight 3411, from Chicago O'Hare International Airport, which personnel had overbooked, were asked to volunteer and to wait in standby for the next flight. Boarding attendants told passengers "if no one volunteered passengers would randomly be selected."

The lottery system for removal doesn't appear to follow procedures which call for last booked in class and moving backward. The final passengers to book the flight, emergency or not, would be the first to be selected in any boarding overbooking issues.

Passengers reported passengers were offered $400.00 and then $800.00 in flight vouchers and hotel accommodations to volunteer.

Even if that were the case, apparently, the passengers were not notified of the reverse lottery system and simply told a random selection would be made.

Dr. David Dao, an Asian, was selected and when he refused to leave the plane, three security guards bordered the plane. Two wore Police jackets with insignia's on the back of the jackets identifying them as Chicago Police, and the third security guard with no visible agency affiliation, reached across the seat to the window seat and attempted to lift the passenger up from the seat.

A physical struggled ensured, with the passenger screaming as he was grabbed and pulled from his seat, that was recorded by multiple passengers and posted to social media. The videos have been shared more than five million times across multiple platforms, and sparked a national boycott of United Airlines.

As United Officials continued to monitor the fall out by Monday afternoon, CEO Munoz took additional action and issued an actual apology indicting the officer who pulled Dr. Dao from his seat, dragging down the aisle off the flight had been placed on leave.

Four passengers on United Flight 3411 were selected three departed without incident, Mr. Dao refused. The fiasco ended delaying the flight, having all passengers removed from the plane and the boarding procedures initiated again in three hours.

United Airlines Boarding agents have been known to be bullish and authoritarian. On a recent return flight from Cleveland, Ohio, by this writer, the United ticketing agents at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport told passengers they were experiencing overbooking issues and to "deal with it" as they downgraded on a volunteer basis passengers from First class to Economy and pushed passengers in higher rows to the back of the plane. Passengers were also offered flight incentives.
