Brooklyn Subway Terror: 28 Injured and Shot, Undetonated Devices Found

Terror and panic erupted in New York City during the height of the morning commute when a lone gunman shot and injured 28 and left several undetonated explosive devices at the Sunset Park, Brooklyn, subway station.
"Today was a difficult day for New York," he said during a news briefing from another location as continues to isolate himself after testing positive for COVID-19. "We saw a quiet Tuesday morning turn the N train into a war zone as a smoke bomb was detonated and multiple shots rang out," Fox News reported.

The attack on the Manhattan bound N/R lines began at 8:27am local time, when a man, wearing a green construction vest, stood up on the train and put on a gasmask. He then tossed smoke grenades which filled the subway car and began shooting passengers.
The train pulled into the Sunset Park station in Brooklyn. Passengers were running from the train onto the platform. The attacker continued firing on those waiting on the platform and fled the scene.

New York Police were dispatched to the scene and immediately blocked off the entire area. Throughout the day new reports were provided and by evening, it was clear the shooter had arrived to create a mass casualty event on the Brooklyn train. Police announced they recovered from the scene a Glock handgun, four smokers, two which had not been detonated, three extended magazines, and a hatchet.
Police recovered 33 shell casings from the scene. It was a miracle that the carnage was limited as it could have been a massacre.
Former NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly told Fox News Digital, "This is a big onion that you have to peel ... Issues such as have crimes committed in New York City recently with people using smoke or smoke grenades, smoke canisters."

The gunman also dropped keys which led the police to the NYPD to a U-Haul rental van. Once they were able to determine the van keys did not belong to an injured passenger, they were able to trace the keys, and found the van had been rented in Philadelphia to Frank R. James, 62, with addresses in Philadelphia and Wisconsin.
He was immediately named as a person of interest and his image circulated. His connection to the attack has not yet been confirmed.

Conditions of the injured range from to critical but non-life threating injuries, smoke inhalation, shock. and other injuries. By 5:00pm (EST) five of the injured remained hospitalized.
The Brooklyn Nets have donated $50,000 to assist the injured and The MTA and the NYPD each donated 25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
