The Day The Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, from Vertigo Releasing, presents a whacky tale, as Porky Pig and Daffy Duck are in a race to save the planet from an unknown sinister villain.
The film begins with a loving introduction to Porky Pig and Daffy Duck, both voiced by the multi-talent Eric Bauza, as they are abandoned and found by Farmer Jim, voiced by Fred Tatasciore, and we see them raised as brothers in a loving home. One day, Farmer Jim dies and the two inherited his home.

At the same time, we meet the Scientist, who sees a UFO streaking across the night sky, crashing into Porky's and Daffy's roof before it crash lands on earth. As he approaches the crater the green glow suddenly hypnotizes him and he is under the spell of the evil Invader, voiced by Peter MacNicol.
The next morning, Mrs. Grecht, voiced by Laraine Newman, stops by the house and announces to Porky and Daffy unless they get the house and roof repaired, in three days, she will have it condemned.
This sets Porky and Daffy off on their first adventure, as they try to earn enough money to have the roof repaired. Unfortunately, each time they try, they fail. There just doesn't seen to be a job they can do. To comfort their misery, they head over to the local soda shop and order milk shakes. Just when they could not feel any worse, Porky see Petunia Pig walk into the diner. He is smitten in an instant. Too shy to talk to her, Daffy strikes up a conversation, and bold as he is, and invites her to join them. Soon the worst evening of their lives became the best evening. Not only did they meet Petunia, but she offered them a job at the Goodie Gum company, where she is a flavor specialist.

Daffy, as we come to discover, is irrational and often acts on his first instinct without thinking about the outcome, and today, of course, is no different. He sees the scientist, who is still hypnotized, and carrying a suitcase that is leaking the same green glob that they found on the roof of their home. Nobody's fool, Daffy follows the scientist through the inner doors of the gum factory and watches him drop the green glob into the gum mixture.
While this mystery is unfolding, Porky is romancing Petunia, and they agree to attend the launch of the new gum flavor together. Daffy has realized there is something shady going on here and follows the scientist to the park and watches in horror as everyone who chews the gum becomes brainwashed. Desperate, he runs and tells Porky, who is determined not to let him ruin this job and more importantly his new friendship.
Of course, Daffy cannot be stopped and in front of the world he tries to expose the gum, but it is too late, and he is arrested. Porky bails him out of jail, and they meet up with Petunia. By this time, the gum, which is the most popular gum in Grandview, has taken over everyone's minds.
Once Petunia understands what has happened, the three of them devise a plan to save the people of Grandview, expose the plot and save them from the sinister invader.
